Amanpour viewers continued commenting on the partial ban of the burqa initiative in France. While the people that opposed to the ban felt that this initiative would strip Muslims of their “religious rights,” the supporters stated that outsiders settling in foreign countries should abide to the that country’s laws. Additionally, a European lawmaker declared, “Nobody could claim the right to look at others without being seen.” Overall, mixed commentary was received weighing religious and political beliefs for the most part.

If Europe is willing to take precedence of denying its own citizens from their basic right of freedom of worship, religion, dress-code or dietary preference; this will only work against its own interest & ultimately to its own demise. This european decision calls for all muslim countries to impose a dietary ban on pork, even a dress code banning shorts & bikinis or sun bathing in public places&total ban on alcohol for all europeans & christians visiting or living in the middle east. Supported by severe prison sentences for any offender. lts time for France to remember that it was these very sons of hijab wearing minorities that liberated europe from its Nazi enemies. Now these same very minorities will soon act & rise as bitter enemies of their own country.

While agreeing with Mitchell that muslims living in non muslim countries should abide by the laws of that country, just as non muslims going to Saudia are constrained to observe the dress code of Saudia, I view this recent law in Europe with a considerable amount of missgiving. This has a very strong stench of racial profiling, anti muslim sentiment and mischief. A country that takes pride in the freedoms that their citizens enjoy, why then this descrimination against a particular group. I don't believe security is a reason because there are other socio-religious groups living there who also have typical dresses and head gears that can pose security concerns. For example, a sari can as easily hide incriminating material as a burka. All these missgivings notwithstanding, I would support the premise that if the govt makes a law it should be abiding for all.

This campaign against law abiiding women who wear head scarves, across europe, goes to show extent of their xenophobic roots, their intolerance&rejection of a diverse multi-culturalism within europe, fear of loss of the european identity & the spread of lslam in europe.

Their irrational fear is so pathetically proposterous, that they now fear women wearing hijaab out of love & their own choice. Even as fashion.
Or do they prefer their population to all be uniformly naked&exposed?

What will they do when angry&armed bearded men come marching from the south? Or are they expecting another wrath of Carthage? Only this time in the name of lslam???

The west has imposed their language, fashion, music, art, education, films, consumer products, technology, religion, cults&decadent peudo culture around the globe.

They also enforced their laws & wills upon peoples&colonies around the globe. Australia, New Zealand, Africa, Canada, French Polynesia, S.&N.America, Carribean etc; are just a few known examples; where today most have forgotten their original roots, lands, as well as their languages, costumes, customs&religion.

They exploited their lands, natural resources&enslaved their natives to be shipped across the continents to the "New World"; as eternal slaves, living in misery & bondage without hope or ability of returning to their original homelands.

Has the west not done enough to eradicate civilizations, languages & cultures around the world??????

European Enlightenment occurred 500 years ago and it should not abandon social progress for medieval Islamists. The French and Belgians are right, the burqua has no place in a nation where women have been liberated. Fundamentalist Muslims promote wife-beating and the Koran is filled with shockingly misogynistic statements like “paradise for a wife is under the heel of her husband’s foot.” Muslims should also support other European freedoms, like gay marriage, or they should be escorted out. The burqua was invented by Mohammed because he didn’t want other men looking at his wives. The jealous prophet! WHo married a nine-year-old girl. The burqua symbolizes a man’s possession of his wife; it is anti-feminist. All you ignoramuses who dispute the Belgian decision – go read the Koran so you know what you’re talking about.

In Afghanistan; NOT wearing a burqa will get the attention of men who will stare and stare and stare as they are not used to seeing attractive women. Therefore; by wearing a burqa in Afghanistan; a woman will have a sort of privacy and averting the evil eye of salivating men!
However; outside Afghanistan; wearing a burqa will get the attention of everyone who will stare and stare and stare. Therefore; by wearing a burqa; a woman is indirectly asking for attention.
Isn't any wonder that a person wearing any unusual outfit (like a clown) will get the attention of passers-by?

I myself are not in favor of wearing burqua. However I don't think any society should force anybody to wear clothing of that society, and particular those European countries which our known by their discrimination of foreigners, especially the Muslim population in their countries. I only wonder whether they minded and oppose to the burqua when they were colonialists and occupied the countries where women were wearing burques.

I'm from iran. I was born muslim but now all my familly except my mother dont believe in any religion. There are a lot of people like us in iran, but they can't express their idea because they will be hanged according to islamic law. Unfortunately you consider us as muslim in your media!
Islam forces its idea from the birth of a baby by bombarding him/her by its idea and dont let him/her to think about anything else. Actually Muslim women dont choose the hejab. They are under different pressure. May be they fear god punish them by putting them in fire(thats what they have been learned from childhood), or they are under pressure by their family or husband even by looking at them in other ways! May be by banning borqa you support them and the society, because borqa limit them in society.
What do you do with someone who want to hurt him/hirself or other people?
Hejab its a way to limit women and possess them created by man in a religion that doesnt consider any right for women.
The muslims even dont let anyone to critisize the islam but they want to do what this religion orders them to do.

Amanpour ! If I say I love you, people will think otherwise of me, again to say I like you ,it will not express all that which is in the inside of me . So what can I say,to prove to the world that I like you like my mother ?. Your husband has never been such a lucky man in his life to have such a wonderful, intellegent and gifted young lady like you.I like your interviews that is why.
This is just a reply to BORONE's comments above.
The seriousness of this issue of BURQA in Europe or in the world, may demand outright candour. Please note that, I am not writing this out of bitterness or resentment against my fellow muslisms No,not at all, but out of love,by which we are morally constrained to speak the truth to the world so that we can be bold on the day of judgment, for I am a muslim. Amanpour,a number of thoughtful people have often asked: Is muslim's Allah God and the father of christian Jesus Christ ?. Why am I saying this, is in response to BORONE's irrational comments against the western world generally, and has completely changed direction outside of the BURQA, that is why I am constrained to divert a little bit to reply him,for he said ( This European decision calls for all muslim countries to impose a dietary ban on pork, dress code, shorts & bikinis, sun bathing in public places, alcohol, for all EUROPEANS & CHRISTIANS living in the MIDDLE EAST with severe prison sentences......the westerners are imposing their consumer products on the muslims in Europe, their laws, norms, cults, religions, ethics, cultures, fashions, musics, arts, education, films, technology, moral decadents...around the globe.) BORONE !, one thing we must understand is that ,although there could be a philosophy of religion, but religion itself is,basically, not a philosophy but a revelation, and so it cannot be judged on the same pedestal as the platonic, socratic,or other philosophies. ISLAM in particular,is a religion of revelation (ARABIC :wahy or naql) so ISLAM in otherwords is a direct revelation, and not a product of a philosophical genius . So what am I saying to this extent ?.
Your comments, comforting as it may seem to us (MUSLIMS),this attitude can be dangerous ,as some facts can be disturbing and confusing to the western mind. So who is the Allah of the ARAB Christians and the Allah of the muslims ?.Do I understand you to mean that,Allah of the Christians is GOD and Allah of the Muslims is ALLAH ?. For I remember a month a go or thereabout, there was this MALAYSIA's "ALLAH" BATTLE because the Malaysian christians are using the name of Allah to worship in their churches,or are you saying that ,those who say that Allah is not the God and father of the Christian Jesus Christ are right ,if they mean God is not so described by muslims ? and they are wrong if they mean that Allah is other than the God of the Christian Faith ?. So for you to settle this matter or questions, you have to know where the problem lies.Unless if you are saying that, the claims in the origin of the Koran are mere claims of apprehensions of the devine, from the muslims'heads and if so,was the message in the Koran received or conceived ?.
Perhaps it is time we dug up some bare bone facts to settle it somewhere. If muslims in the world think that, colonisation and imposition of western ways of life, religion, ideology, technology, cultures, education, languages, moral behaviours, films etc are absolutely incomparable and incompatible to the moral values of ISLAM,why do we bother ourselves to even go to the western world and be forced to their ways of life by the way ? I am here in my country Nigeria,no man from the west can come and impose his ways of life to us in Nigeria, the languge goes does:If you can not beat them, you join them.Otherwise we shut up our mouths and quit from their countries for their moral bankcruptcy as claimed, for quiters dont win and winners dont quit, you either be losers or you quit their countries period. The BURQA should not in any way,by any means, and in whatsoever way or manner have a place in any civilise, democratic and educated moral valued community or society in its entirety. For it is crude, uncivilised, immoral uncommon to the western world, and below the usual standards of the western societies, where women are desperately now fighting for equality, liberties, freedom of expression, right to walk with men of their choices on the street without subjecting them to inhuman treatment ,otherwise we carry our women out of the western societies that is acceptable and just that alone we can do,so that their paradise will continue to be under the heel of their husbad's foot ,but we cannot imposed our archaic, crude, odd and virtually obsolete behaviours, ideology and or beliefs to our colonial masters because of our Islamic, religious and or our ideological orientation into another man's land. All the moral ideas in Islam is anti-feminist,why dont you read your Koran very well before you write this to the world BORONE. I feel ashame of myself as a muslim .BELGIUM ,Swiss and FRANCE are to me the most civilised countries in the western world. LONDON and AMERICA these are ARAB countries with white-heads, that is why U.K.have the courage to send away the ISREAELIS out of London, there is even Sharia Law in London for the muslims for God sake, something in NIGERIA we strongly opposed to it,their eyes will soon be opened dont worry.
If you go to Rome, you must do what the Romans do ,why should I close my face for the world not to see me,but I am interested in seeing people ? This is ridiculous and totally unacceptable to the west, come back and meet us at home and leave them alone with their ways of life, if you find it unjust ,undemocratic and unIslamic. You can't meet me in my house and would want me to behave the way you want, this is disgusting. If the snail finds splinters in its shell ,he changes house,so why are you wasting your time in the western world ? So what message of salvation can the ARAB world offer to the sinning western world as you so sound morally efficacious if that is the case? Is it not written in the Koran sura:6:92 sura.3:7 sura:53:4 that the Koran descended from heaven and that the original copy is still on the 'preserved Tablet'in heaven today ,and that nothing in the Koran must be questioned ?. so how can we know the intention of the Allah since questions are prohibited ?what are we going to tell to our children, wives and the readers if we are asked, especially if the facts concern the salvation of their soul? We'll tell them.the Koran prohibites questioning?. One thing we must know(muslims)is that the western world is not going to continue to wait for the muslims in the world to stiffen them and make their nations as muslims did in the African continent,Asia, and in many other places in the world, where it has become an offence to openly confess the christian faith or convert a person to christianity, but we want everybody in this world to be a muslim, without question as to their salvation no matter their races. You are now trying to convert all the shops, markets, consumer products in the western world to HALAL shops and MARKETS,by the time they will get to know of your Islamic intentions of HALAL Markets, you will all park and leave their countries,no more issue of democracy or religion, so take note BORONE.
