An offence is committed, but as Christ taught us, they should be forgiven as God also forgives us our trespasses.

For Putin three years of prison isn't too bad – this man isn't funny. Why is he taking this so seriously and personally? If he is a political leader, there is criticism and personal provocation and he will never stopp it with putting them in prison. So it would be much cleverer to talk to them and look for a certain compensation or compromise for acting against church and the breaking of tabus. Probably he thinks, there ought to be more respect and this is something he can form arguments of and get approval. On the other hand the mingling of governmental and cleric interests is something a modern state should think about. Religion is becoming something more and more private, claims of one religious group is often harming rights of those not belonging to the group. If we look at Syria, it's the same. Church-leaders should be blamed for thinking in segregational terms: absolutism with religiousl traditional dogmas must come to an end!
