Russia envoy: Show me the evidence on Syria

August 28th, 2013
05:20 PM ET

The Russian ambassador to the European Union condemned any use of chemical weapons, but said the UN Security Council had yet to see any evidence of an attack in Syria.

“I understand that there has been a lot of talk by Western leaders about undeniable evidence,” Vladimir Chizhov told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour on Wednesday. “But none of that has been provided to the Security Council.”

I am wondering what Russia is up to. Are you still fighting a cold war with USA or what is it?. Russia only condemns any one who comes with a solution to save life, but does not offer any viable alternative solution. How many people have died in Syria and how many people are misplaced. Syria now needs action not lip service. Action is too late, it has been delayed partly by Russia which is against any action being taken against his ally Syria but seems not to mind about its citizens who are being killed every day.

Russia had tried to deter the west from committing a carnage in Iraq but to no avail, the result of which AS WE SEE IT TODAY, is a shockingly stable and democratic IRAQ.knowing what will happen to Syria should America starts applying its democratic medication,it'sonly logic that Russia takes such a stance .In any way, should the strike takes place, the West and the US will certainly find the reaction of the region totally surprising, just like Israel in 2006 blunder into Lebanon. Time for the West and the US in particular to understand that they are no longer wanted in the region.

    Ms. Amanpour,

I trust you to ask the questions no one else will. During the War on Gaza, Israel carried out chemical attacks on Palestinians and yet were never held accountable. Moreover, it is widely known that Israel has a cache of weapons (from the US and their own) that could easily target Syria. Why, then, should we become involved in an issue that has, in the news media, often been misreported as "protecting our allies" – and, moreover, why do we hold different standards for Israel's use of white phosphorus (for example)? I trust you implicitly as a journalist so I'm quite aware that you already know these facts. When are you going to push for answers?

And also please answer, who was and is responsible to sell the chemical materials to Syrian (government or rebels) and before that to Saddam that used against Iran (1986-1988)?

Western democracy is trailered to fit American /Israeli interest and that's what America has made known all along , but Arabs keep turning a deaf ear to this arrogant statement .Actually we see this brand of democracy almost everywhere in the Middle East , so enough of this barbaric charity .

When was America really sincere in expressing interest in having equal relation with Arabs, by Arabs I mean the people not the puppet regimes. This war if it takes place, will be the last war of this century ,you know why, Israel will exist no more.

It is confusing for us developing nations. This problem of chemical weapons who is using them. I am sure many have used them but no alarm has been raised. I dont support what is going on in Syria yet balance of power is vital. The fight is Shias against Suni meaning Sunis are down trodden. The answer is not western mighty intevation but the current Govt. To accept that sunis too have a right to live in Syria. The Shias cannot alone be on mount Kilimanjaro.

Russia and China have to show concern that what happened in Iraq, Libya awmd nmw Afghanstan does not happen in Syria. Instead as close allied to Assad advise him agree accommodate the Sunis. Egypt is suffering and indeed we cant need the USA or Western countries just when there are wars. I dont understand the functions of the Arab League when there Arab crisis. Palestine is on fire but Arabs are calm why today they are putting fingure on Syria negatively instead of solving the problem. We cannot continue to be white man's burden for wars only instead of developments.

Ms Amanpour, Interview with Syrian Ambassador to UN was disappointing. He did a good defence of Syria, whereas you were totally biased and illogical. You acted a and spoke as an agent of The White House, not as an anchor who has to be always neutral and in search of truth. How do you go to sleep after so much lies and hatred in your blood??

Who the hell is "Amanpour"? She always ask some shiit question like " how you sleep" , you are a liere", stop command to a prime minister while interviewing. This is not geniousness, it's a Shiits & dishonours to other by calling interview to her program .
