On Monday, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni signed into law a bill that toughens penalties against gay people and makes some homosexual acts crimes punishable by life in prison.

In 2011 and 2014, photographer Daniella Zalcman travelled to Uganda to photograph gay rights activists and their partners.

christian i want you to answer this question for me ,is there anywhere in the Bible that glorifies this nonsense call gay rights which have been come the talk of the media or better still can some body get married to two wifes in U.S or any part of the western World, certainly not.why then would the western governments not allow african continents to make thier own policy without being interfer with .is a shame that this is happening .why not they go and tell the middle East states especially saudi Arabia to endorse that.it is not part of african system and will never be and i have no remorse for any one in africa who has lost his or her live trying to practice this taboo...cultures do transcend boundaries but certainly not this one likewise poligamy in the West.is Waste of time and resources.

They said :if you go to rome do as they do. I have never heard that take the romans out of rome to do what they do. Africa belongs to us not to all. Let us rule ourselves without your help on how to do it

Hello Christiane and the BBC crew, some of the people(in Uganda) who claim they are gay do this as an avenue to get a better living. Some wanna live in the US or Europe. Getting to greater heights, one has to work hard. My two cents.
