By Mick Krever, CNN
American and European action “has possibly prevented a full-scale invasion of Ukraine,” Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour on Monday.
“America provided leadership on Ukraine,” Sikorski said, countering the common narrative that the West stood weakly in the face of Russian aggression.
U.S. President Barack Obama is headed to Europe this week on a trip that will end by commemorating the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings at Normandy. His first step, however, will be Poland, which played a key role in the Ukraine crisis.
“We are always glad to see President Obama in Europe,” Sikorski said.
Despite a presidential election, Ukraine remains extremely volatile. Five militants were killed in the volatile eastern Ukrainian city of Luhansk on Monday after they took part in a large coordinated assault on a border guard base, an official at the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service told CNN.
In response to Ukrainian unrest, NATO bolstered its presence near Russia’s border; the U.S. sent 150 paratroopers to Poland.
“We would welcome more troops, both from Europe and from the United States,” Sikorski said.
“We simply think that the level of security across the NATO area should be more or less even. And at the moment, we have NATO bases as legacies of the Cold War, in places where they were useful during the confrontation with the Soviet Union and it doesn't take into account the events of the last quarter of a century. And this should now be addressed.”
He nonetheless expressed hope that Ukraine’s new leader, Petro Poroshenko, can bridge the divide necessary to bring stability.
“Petro Poroshenko comes from the Party of Regions, was a minister under Mr. Yanukovych, and is someone who is credible for the West and should be someone that Russia should be able to do business with.”
“I think they are talking already, and it would be good for the two countries to normalize relations, because they need each other.”
Russian President Putin, he told Amanpour, has perhaps realized that he bit oof more than he could chew in Ukraine.
“I think the costs of annexing Crimea are probably much higher than he had budgeted for. One hears that pension salaries are not being paid, that the banking system is in disarray; the agriculture; the tourist season is lost. And it's costing tens of billions of dollars.”
“Eastern Ukraine is three-and-a-half times bigger, so the cost would be proportionally higher. But it's good when realism wins out.”
So will Russia, Amanpour asked, re-join the path of normalization – joining international treaty and trade organizations – that it was on before the current crisis?
“Only one person knows, and that's President Putin.”
Good job on those videos, great specials effects. Not sure how many shooting victims youve ever seen, but theynwere awfully calm while bleeding to death. I love the the camera man does nothing to help. Yeah, real heroic work.
video after ukranian aviastrike
ukranian su-25 shot in Lugansk, s8 rocket
Ever heard of shock, genius? These people were not shot, they were BOMBED, you ignorant. You can find thousands of videos of people who are dazed and not reacting to what just happened to them. Nazi-lover, aren't ya.
Pretty pathetic you are calling this fake... there are hundreds of videos uploaded just like this think they are all faked?... no wonder you watch CNN...they are total propaganda, and you are the tool
may God mercy on you!
The airport attack brought to light the presence in Donetsk of a well-equipped, close-knit military unit operating on the separatist side.
They call themselves the Vostok Battalion (English: East Battalion), which is the name of a former ethnic Chechen special forces unit commanded by Russian officers.
It once fought for Moscow against rebels in the Russian republic of Chechnya, and later served in the war against Georgia over South Ossetia in 2008.
Political pressure forced the dissolution of the old Vostok but, as regional security analyst Mark Galeotti argues in a recent blog post, it may have been reformed for covert tasks in Ukraine.
The USA is intent upon starting a new cold war. They are a failing state, actually bankrupt. A new cold war would allow them to print more paper. Now they are going to show off NATO, their basic neo-imperialistic creation. President Putin does not like wars and has no intention of starting one. Russia has never made an aggressive war against a European nation. Crimea has been a part of Russia since the 18th century.
I am currently reading Lenin, Stalin, and Hitler, The Age of Social Catastrophe by Robert Gellately. Hitler may have been a monster. But he had partners in crime.
Like USA and UK
Too right, wait till Bashar Al Assad leaves the scene , next it will be that the Islamic Republik of Syria and iRaq will extend to London and Washington. They know that and they are expecting to usee Kiev to help them then. They deserve their creed.
All heil the chocolate king!
Western hands are soaked with civilian blood
The only country that wanted to form a coalition against Hitler's Germany in 1936 was Russia. It was ignored. It was left along to help an anti-fascist movement during Spanish civil war with US banning any assistance in its hope to weaken communist movement in Europe.
Are you serious right now? The Soviet Union was allied with Germany at the beginning of WW2. Go somewhere else with that bs.
Her words are terrifying.. "she says help me... help me please".. like she thinks she simply fell down.. Looks like her leg is partially blown off. I think she died, because there are other pictures of her with her eyes closed and lifeless looking.
Think of her kids watching this, they have many reasons to hate Europeans and Americans.
Yeah, because it's the Americans and Europeans that stormed into Crimea and eastern Ukraine waiving AK47s around, taking over government buildings, and threatening to "shoot anyone in the head who tries to vote."
The blame rests solely on the shoulders on the Russians and pro-Russian supporters. Ukraine is a sovereign nation that has been invaded by Russian citizens and they have every right to defend the nation, including using military force. The vast majority of the insurgents that were killed in the airport operation were identified as Russian citizens and transported back to Russian for their burial. If you want to point your finger, point it at Russia.
Or hate the Chechen mercenaries that enter ilegally into Ukrainian territory, as well as the coward pro-Russian militias that hide behind women and children. It is not me that is saying this, but the Ukrainian citizens, see video of the Ukrainian grandma that is menaced by pro-Russian cowards: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ux2dG5Isel8&w=640&h=390]
Brat brata w dupe charata
The woman in red died. Murdered by westerners and their chocolate puppet.
Gaven, da fuq u saying? Killing women is defending nation? Bombing people on the streets is righteous? Why don't you go there and tell this people about 'russian invasion' & 'a sovereign nation' of yours? They will be so glad to listen to your arguments under the next airstrike.
More likely killed by Russian militia trying to destabilize Ukraine as an example to not interfere or get killed.
The fat greedy americans are hoping they will that choko whatever will give them big supplies at very high discount.
Why nothing on Ukrainian airstrike on civilians on CNN?
Western democracy in action
Russia: stop sending Chechen and Russian mercenaries into Ukraine. The Ukrainian army blasted 33 of them and send the bodies to be buried back in their countries. They have nothing to do in Ukraine. Stop terrorizing the population, Ukrainians and Russian Ukrainians want peace and live their lives. Stop arming the terrorist rebels. Arming the terrorist rebels invites reaction from the Ukrainian authorities to defend their territory, and when the rebels cowardly hide behind women and children, civilians die.
Russian fought on the front lines as a last resort in past wars. They always had the Poles, Czechs, Romanians, Latvians, Ukrainians, etc. fight their wars. Here they are using old people, women, & children. No surprise, after all it is Russia
People, don't you see that by blaming all this tragedy on Russia, you behave just as those who blame 9-11 on the US and Israel?
People, you feel so self-righteous now, but think how many terrible mistakes has US done in the past 20 years! What makes you think that unconditional support of Maidan Ukrainians and demonizing every russian move (Syria, Snowden, even the tip on Boston Marathon bombing, and Sochi Olympics) is just another costly foreign policy mistake? Or another deliberate push to an unnecessary war, like Iraq or Vietnam? Have you forgotten the "patriotism" before Iraq invasion, and the "freedom fries", and Jessica Lynch or Pat Tillman lies? Have you forgotten that Bin Laden was created by CIA as a tool against USSR?
The mistakes are costly to all of us. It is time to stop hysteria and think
Ukraine has no government, it's government is a western installed murderous puppet.
LOL, Ukraine: stop sending American and Polish mercenaries into eastern regions. The rebel army blasted 33 of them and send the bodies to be buried back in their countries. They have nothing to do in Ukraine. Stop terrorizing the population, Ukrainians and Russian Ukrainians want peace and live their lives. Stop arming the nazis and mercs. Arming the nazis invites reaction from the russian authorities to defend russian population, and when the ukranian soldiers cowardly make airstrikes, civilians die.
Arming Bin Laden did the job in New York. There will be more of him and they are already in Syria and will be in Afganistan soon as NATO has been begging the Talibans to let them at least run away with thier tails between their legs and guess why they all have not been starving and slaughtered yet because they use the Russian air corridor to feed their creeps there. Wait till Putin decides they are just excrem and let them get fixed Youcrane will just be past history
Stragne, that sort of krappe from someone who called black soccer players monkeys when they played in Kiev.OOh OOh OOh OOh, guess who is laughing now. Ukrap has no future .
Bloody fools our western politicians. Or just cynical ?
Here the womans leg is clearly missing as she is being taken away on a stretcher. The US is responsible for encouraging Kiev to drop cluster bombs on civilian cities. But when it is Ghadaffii , they accuse him of war crimes. Just goes to show the hypocrisy. Amanpour should just resign, she should be ashamed of herself.
Hmmm... The U.S. is responsible for the cluster bombs that Ukraine supposedly uses... does that mean that Russia is responsible for all of the war crimes that Assad has committed in Syria? Barrel bombs? No, it must be the Wests fault for supporting the rebels. I mean, Ukraine and Syria are so vastly different.
It is Putin, the Little Creep & his mouth piece "Lavrov The Liar" who incite & encourage the Russian civilization to turn on their neighbors. How stupid to endanger your own children, wives, Gedo's & Baba's, all for what? Putin?, Lavrov? How stupid.
LOL, it is America who incite & encourage Ukranian governement to turn on their neighbors. How stupid to endanger your own children, wives, Gedo's & Baba's, all for what? US?, EU? How stupid.
Well Ukraine you wanted to join the western club, now you have to pay your dues. You got your IMF loan now its time to work for it. Don't worry about the Russian Army I am sure they will just stand by. Besides we have your back!
As a proud Marxist I will state in no minced words that Russia has disrupted the sovereign territory of Ukraine. All you insane pro-Russian types are just using propaganda to your advantage as the West has done. If you're going to cast stones, make sure you invest in plexiglass otherwise your houses will fall. Losers...
A drop in the ocean in comparison to what the Russians have done since the 30,s armed just about every evil regime that has existed and fuel the flow of weaponry to every form of terrorist / puppet regime ever known, any way show the footage in colour , all the footage not just propaganda that serves Russian victimhood purposes sold to its public.
Hi there, loyal western sheep that thinks it is free.
LOL, a drop in the ocean in comparison to what the Americans have done since the 30,s armed just about every evil regime that has existed and fuel the flow of weaponry to every form of terrorist / puppet regime ever known, any way show the footage in colour , all the footage not just propaganda that serves American victimhood purposes sold to its public.
LONG LIVE STEPAN BANDERA!
DOWN WITH THE ASIATIC MUSCOVITE TRASH!
And here, ladies, is the proof that the West are the new Nazis.
OOOO easy kid...im a proud Polak and although i support free and undivided Ukraine, i have nothing to do with Nazis or Bandera people. We had a personal beef with Bandera, but that does not mean all Ukrainians are like Stepan. We will not let Nazis back to Krakow, don't you worry. What i hate to see is so called 'closest brothers' killing each other, by that i mean Ukrainians and Russians. On top of all that we are all Slavs remember, this fight is between Slavs from Moscov and Slavs from Kiev.
To kill each other they bring other people, people of different cultures. This is very sad, it's like killing your own brother with a stranger...
Poland us a neo Nazi state. I don't think Putin listens to anything these fascists say.
I really think you don't understand what the nazi time in Poland was, you are just ignoramus
Why do you claim so? During WW2 war 6 mln Poles was murdered (more than 5 mln were unarmed civilians) by not only German nazis but also by those from Austria, Ukraine, Russia (you forgot SS Brigade ROA and Wlasow?) and even Norway.... We fought nazis from 1939 to 1945 on every possible front in Western and Eastern Europe and in Africa. And then we were sold to Stalin who was between 1939 and 1941 the best Hitler friend.....
indeed, it's so easy to deliver opinions which do not concern us, all the more if we haven't got knowledge base about reality.
Volunteers from across the world are coming to help the people dismantle the western installed nazi junta of Kiev that murders it's own people in cold blood, this is good.
The puppet masters will probably be dismantled next.
im going to state facts
1. US started the revolution in Ukraine (supported the coup)
2. Russia took Crimea in response bacause its too important for geopolitical balance
3. US is supporting the war in Ukraine right now, killing civilians.
4. Eastern Ukraine is not attacking, its defending itself
5. Ukraine government are puppets installed
6. Putin is the best president among all world leaders. he is smarter, stronger – everyone knows this.
Yes, the western orchestrated civil war in what's left of Ukraine is a direct consequence of the USA occupation of Europe with the goal of keeping Russia busy so they may be the sole dictator state of the entire world.
1. People ousted criminal president, and Putin didn’t like that. Result: civil war.
2. Russia took Crimea because Putin once said downfall of USSR was biggest geopolitical disaster of 20th century. Crimea was just another step of restoring the Soviet Union.
3. US is supporting by giving food. Russia is supporting by giving troops and weapons. Hence, Russia is directly responsible for each and every death.
4. Eastern Ukraine is controlled by pro-Russian bandits that must be eliminated.
5. The puppets sit in Moscow.
6. Putin is already known as a loser, a warmonger, an oligarch by stealing Russian people’s money, and he’s very short.
1. Putin wanted to stop Ukraine EU deal and brought people to street against his deal with Yanuk
2. Seen Yanuk pushed into corner, Putin started preparation for Crimea invasion months before February events
3. Currently no US citizens, guns, ammo etc not detected within separatists. Mostly coming from Russia
4. Eastern Ukraine is not attacking, its defending itself
5. Rada elected by the people of Ukraine in fall 2012, president elected by people of Ukraine May 2014
6. Already when Putin was deputy mayor in St. Petersburg with only official income 400 usd/month, owned 100k worth mansion. Thats legit:)
western and european leaders know that they talk bogus all the time. but they have to do that. its all understood. double standards are so obvious its not even funny anymore. All educated people around the world including people that live in the US, Canada and Europe understand what going on. the West and Europe are using geopolitical weapons to fight economic problems. Its not going to go down well at all.
Westerners staged a coup in Kiev, brought to power their puppet oligarch and are now killing those that don't agree with them.
Western regimes deserve the same treatment as the people in the videos.
Look to the Kremlin for the guilty ones.
LOL, look to the Kiev for the guilty ones. Who's killing civilians right now, Putin? Or he's busy with your mom?
Westerners in this picture clearly burned themselves.
Blown up air conditioner the most likely cause.
the west and europe are doing all this because they are broke... you cant spend more then you make forever... it just doesnt work like that. Russia is a profitable business. Russia sells oil and gas and is profitable. China makes stuff and is also a profitable business. US and Europe unfortunatly are in deep debt and are practically bankrupt. Its a fact. Whether we agree with that or not. And that is why they are trying to control everything, trying to expand their sphere of influence. Its the only way for them to continue borrowing. Too bad the world has come to this.
working for a bank doing corporate banking i know for a fact that a company that operates with a deficit and covers that deficit with borrowing eventually either goes bankrupt or changes owners thru a merger or other ways. well same rules apply to countries. now please explain to me how can a country borrow exponansially and never go bankrupt???
I believe the west has handled the situation appropriately. A more aggressive tone could have gone ugly, a full-scale war wont be profitable and should be avoided.
USA, UK and EU will fail, the "west" will lose, Russians will be free from euroatlantic oppression.
LOL, emmm... Nope, nothing will really change, bro. Sorry.
For centuries Poland and Russia were in dispute about this territory and Poland still desperately wants it. No surprise Russia is blamed for everything by Poland. Centuries ago the Orthodox population of Ukraine has been saved by Russia from extermination by the advancing Catholic states and from the south tribes and Muslim expansions, gained additional lands during Soviet times and has been established as a State. Russians and Ukrainians have been thought at the same schools and Universities, working side by side in Ukraine and Russia, been happy to meet each other abroad: mixed families, friends, economical and cultural links..Somebody is convincing the Ukrainians now that Russians were actually enemies and they had different paths and that they should hate each other. Nobody in the West will suffer as much as Ukrainians and Russians looking at these pictures and films, because people in those horrible images are us: they had watched the same movies, read the same books, they suffer in the way we did, there are relatives and friends.
The Ukrainian East wanted a dialogue with Kiev that have never happened! More and more civilians want to take part in the separatist movement now because they do not see any way back. Too many already experienced unforgettable losses. Yes, there may be people from Russia who come to join, I hardly could believe that there would not be any. Even our friends Ukrainian scientists from the region now on the side of separatists. Keep going free Ukraine!
Now that is a huge simplification.
I agree that Poland (Republic of Two Nations to be strict) was fighting wars with Russia (I mean especially Time of Troubles and false Dimitrij).
Moscow actually, which was not the only Russian state, playing a a big role in history. There was also Novgorod. And Kiev was actually the centre of Russian culture. Not wiped out by Polish as You claim but by Mongol invasion in 1240.
Ukraine was a place where Cossacs held against all the neighbors that tried to make them back into being peasants and work at the fields (yes – these were feudal times – nobles were forcing peasants to work for them). They were fighting Polish nobles (Chmielnicki upprising), Ottomans and Khan of Crymean Tatars (yes – Crymea was inhabited mostly by Tatars until Stalin deported most of them). They fought Russian empire as well. There were uprisings such as that led by Mazepa and later by Pugachev. After the last one Russian empress Catherine formally dissolved Zaporhoshian Host.
Poland also stopped Catholic Extremism at one point – Teutonic Order. Also Poland (not Russia) stopped Ottomans expansion at their prime (google the siege of Vienna in 1683 if You don't believe me).
Russian people – please try to find information on Your own and do not trust, what is being fed to You by Your own government. You might discover a whole new history. True history, not the one that is being uses as a tool to make things looking "black and white" (in favour of comrade Putin of course).
PS: I'm not Rusophobic at all. I have Russian friends. I'm afraid of Soviet Union second coming however and i still remember that for comrade Putin "Collapse of the Soviet Union was 'catastrophe of the century' "
Thats why Putin pays muslim Chechens to kill your slavic brothers from Kiev? Your Tsar's propaganda machine kills not only your brains but also your souls.....
I believe the west wanted a totaly different outcome. They thought they would change government in Kiev and take Ukraine away from Russian influence. Now they lost Crimea and will lose eastern Ukraine. the only win for the west is that they can now portray Russia as evil thru propaganda. US is making its companies to not do business with Russia. Thats just pathetic. its a weak position. Lets not do business with Russia cause Russia is evil. thats weak...
How vulgar it was to film that women at close range in her final death agony. There will be a day of reckoning for Russia a nation that has attempted to whitewash it's own history and criminality sits as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, with any luck Western Europe and the Baltic States will coordinate militarily and stare down Putin and the filthy hordes that he commands.
Russians in the eastern Europe will rise and free themselves from euroatlantic oppression.
Third of the baltics are Russians being treated as untermensch.
Anti-Maidan all over Europe.
Russians will free themselves first then liberate other free cultures of Europe.
Fortunately for us in free countries "Article 5 is clear. An attack on one is an attack on all." – speech of Barack Obama today in Warsaw. You can't do anything with this – man up and get used to that ;)
LOL, dudes, you're sick. Why don't you both go and opress each other in the backyard.
Radosław Sikorski is right. Putin the Wolf was forced to content himself with the bone called Crimea! But lots of blood was spilled. This appears to be Putin's trademark. Whatever he touches, drips blood!
Everything is much simpler. there is no Ukraine, there are Russians under western occupation in the land called Ukraine (borderland) fighting for their freedom.
Yeah, dude, you don't like Putin, that's OK. But there was no blood spilled in Crimea. All the blood was spilled by those freaky guys in Kiev who stupidly put their country into chaos, and now they bomb civilians. And who sponsored them? Yeah. Sorry.
Heroes, fighting for freedom from western occupation
Please save the life of Ukraine people, I think Mr. Vladimir should stop to send the rebels from Russia,
This will not stop because each time there is unrest over the world oil prices tend to go up.
Russia is a big producer of oil. And most of prices for Russian natural gas contracts are indexed based on oil price. So it stuffs pockets of comrade Putin and his former KGB friends quite well.
In the long term EU energy policy and diversification of gas suppliers might help !!!
LOL, good luck with that. Maybe in 50 years or so. And, just if you didn't check, oil prices did not rise since Ukranian crisis. But you will find what to blame Putin for anyway, so take your time.
Everybody can check it up on their own:
5 bucks in a 6 months. Damn, Putin made some cash! And all that sanctions against Russian economy... Who count that stuff anyway? So evil russians started maidan just to get some money, for sure.
Western nazis give each other Nobel Peace Prizes for murdering Russian-speakers.
Terrorists are shooting at the Luhansk Regional State Administration:
Terrorists from Kiev are shooting at Lugansk civilians using unguided rockets and autocannon from CAS aircraft.
Learn how manpads work, brainless maidanite.
These are pieces of the unguided rockets, you lying piece of maidan.
LOL, russians are killing themselves in free and democratic Ukraine, what a relief. Oh, what did you say, mister OSCE expert? It was an airstrike? well... It was Putin in that plane, for sure. He was killing civilians just to put the blame on free and democratic Kiev authorities. Who else can we blame but russians?
Battle of Normandy anniversary. Will Obama shake hand new Hitler? https://scontent-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/t1.0-9/10437357_778196438891836_7005233739876307023_n.png
Obama is the new Hitler.
"Erm" – you have got to be the most thinly-disguised Russian Govt.-paid troll I've ever seen! Try a bit of subtlety next time.
Then again, the guy who's paying you isn't exactly known for subtlety. How else would you describe a man who when asked about the tens of thousands of soldiers in Crimea simply replies "what soldiers"? The only thing sadder than that, of course, is that his denial was tacitly accepted by most of the world's leaders...
Yeah, and murder of Lugansk women by Kiev was filmed in moscow.
Buy a brain.
Cheap and adulterated US crack is bad for your health.
I see the american youtube is starting to remove the evidence of western war crimes in Lugansk.
This will not work, all the videos are now spread to other hosting sites.
Another video of Kiev junta targeting civilian buildings from air.
A point to make junta is when an army takes power and assumes the role of government and appoints those into positions of admin and policing ie Burma , Thailand , Indonesia , Pakistan. How is ukraine a junta? the russian puppet that was deposed by a massive public uprising who used mass murder to attempt to hold power. Now Russia destabilizes ukraine deliberately with the constant reference to fascist or other ww2 mantras only fools buy russian propaganda.
It's a fascist puppet regime that took power by an organized armed coup using paramilitary storm troops that considers everyone who don't agree with them sub human.
Same as the westerners consider anyone non-western sub human. In fact, the only difference between nazis and kiev's puppeteers is that nazis operated openly.
Western propaganda is a direct descendant from Goebbels propaganda machine with ukrainian ww2 nazi collaborators currently living their days happily in countries like Canada.
LOL, those guys who came to power in Kiev, they are totally not a junta... Such a good fellas... Burning people alive, making airstrikes... Not a junta tho, so we all must feel OK with them.
Hard to tell who in bed told that woman much about Russian strategy but bet anything Putin is letting the suckers believe he is in big trouble and chews bad till they fall in his usual traps: see syria, china deal, trap waiting set in Eastern Ukraine for the next season and buzzing US planes and the threat to turn the US and its lakeys into radioactive excrement. Bet if he closes the air channel to Afganistan now the suckers will all go to Moscow to beg for redemption, may be she will be there too like a fly on the wall !!!!
A couple of examples of what can be described as fascist regimes, the biggest is that of Iran Moslem clerics and a figurehead leader supreme ayatollah I also believe a great client for russian arms sales the phoney democracy practiced there is nothing more than theatrics and don't forget bashir al Assad bathist socialist we'll he has carried out the decimation of his own people fully supported by the russian federation and armament resupply, Putin has much to answer for as well as the communist filth behind the scenes it is only a matter of months now
Another war crime committed by the US installed puppet junta, 25 wounded rebels executed in a hospital in Krasny Liman.
Another war crime committed by the US installed puppet junta, 25 wounded rebels executed in a hospital in Krasny Liman
Another war crime by US puppets.
25 wounded rebels shot in a hospital in Krasny Liman

Aaah,i see CNN is now set filters to filter out undesirable messages.
My two posts are still awaiting moderation. And I can see plenty of Your post with plenty of emotions and no proof to back it up.
They hold down all post that refer to specific people (mine referred to comrade P.) to prevent eventual legal action against them. I'm quite sure mine will soon be published, cause they are commonly known facts (it's known that comrade P. worked in East Germany in Soviet intelligence organisation).
Also attack of Soviet army on Poland in 17-th of September 1939 is a commonly known fact.
Same as Soviet crimes in Katyn.
I wonder how many sources can You show to prove that there is even slightest possibility to speak against mr P. and his policy in Russia. I know only about two journalists from Russia Today – they do not work there any longer.

It's terrible that civilians become collateral damage in any conflict. However, the blame of these people's deaths and injuries rests on the shoulders of the pro-Russian militants that have taken up arms to pick a fight with the government of Ukraine, which is a fight against its citizens and its sovereignty. In every other country, that is what is called an insurgent. The insurgents are the ones who called down those bombs. The insurgents are the ones who have destabilized areas of Ukraine. The insurgents are the ones who use civilians as human shields, which is exactly how those people got injured or killed.
These attacks have nothing to do with the U.S., Europe, to the west in general. They have everything to do with Russian insurgents operating on behalf of Russian interests (Crimea ring a bell? How about Georgia?), running around with brand new Russian weaponry including ground-to-air missiles, acting like a bunch of bandits looting and preventing fair elections, and forcing the hand of the Ukraine government to protect its interests. The Ukraine government does not have effective local law enforcement, so they must resort to military force. They would not have had to come to that point if these Russian insurgents didn't take up arms against the sovereignty of Ukraine. Every country has a right to defend its sovereignty and that is exactly what Ukraine is doing right now. This is also a powerful reminder that citizens need to steer clear of the insurgents so they do not act as human shields and become collateral damage.
You need to point the finger of blame in the direction it belongs. If it were not for these Russian insurgents, those people NEVER would have been in a position to be collateral damage in a conflict that the Russian insurgents created.
After looking at some CCTV footage of the attack area, it is clear that this was not an aerial bombing. The attack was initiated from the ground level. You can even see the blowback from the launching system (either an RPG or a portable ground-to-air missile system) in the tree line just before the explosion happened about 50m away.
Regardless, the blame still rests on the shoulders of those who have created this insurgency, which are the Russians and all those who support the pro-Russian insurgency.
Explain the cluster bomblets, genius, there is footage of the SU-25 dropping the ordinance, and footage of unexploded cluster bombs. The USA created this insurgency when it toppled a legally elected president with 5 billion dollars, cookies, and arms to western bandera thugs
So much heavy weapons in the hands of "peaceful pro-Russian civilians." They are in Ukrainian territory, firing against Ukrainian army, laughing, see video. If one airstrike blows them to ashes, then suddenly they become 'poor civilians' murdered by the "Western Countries and the Kiev Junta." Shame on those terrorists.
here is the video [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwxqgDEmOSE&w=640&h=390]
The blame still rests on Americans, who impose the “democracy” by war and violence!
Better tell me how you paid for these comments .. Bloody boys you still do not dream?
LOL, bro, the OSCE expert told it was an airstrike. No RPG can do that anyway. So your beloved Kiev dudes are murderers, you beloved Ukranian media are liars, and you are a weirdo here who don't want to face a simple truth. Yeah, and Putin sent me.
Those rebels that hide behind women and children, using them as human shields, deserve to be destroyed.
Scary video of Lugansk!
Kiev fascists kill ordinary people. The scale of destruction is evident that they could not be caused by a random shot by “militants” as that state of Ukraine government. Americans! If you are sane people..Stop Obama! Stop Kiev fascists! Enough violence and gore! In 1991 Ukraine Russians “have been abroad” is not as desired, but to address the “Ukrainian Democratic majority” and due to treachery of the communist leaders. The graves of their ancestors and the ancestors of every third, who now lives in Russia are in Ukraine land. Everyone Russian who sees these pictures “blood boil” now! “Russian long harness, but quickly go ..” You want a third world war? I'm not!
Special military units disable terrorists. Kiev fascists fight against women and children by mortar fire from the air! Without warning! Without any assistance of the women and children in their leaving of this area! Those who support the Kiev government, the fascists themselves..
Any psychopath thinks that the guilty side is the victim. There is always a spiral of guilt in any political conflict but who is the first to cross the line is important. Up to date nearly no civilian has died due to a direct action of separatists: most deaths are from bombing, burning and sniper shouting and it all happened because the unleashed ant-Russian forces in Kiev rashes to ban Russian language, vandalize Russian graves and monuments and ignored the memorandum signed in February. The multiethnic origin and existence of Ukraine should go before of the narrow nationalistic ambitions of minority warmed up up the geopolitical interests of the new "friends and protectors" from the West.
LOL, it's Putin who pushed them under the peaceful Ukranian airstrike. Poor guys from Kiev just didn't know what to do. They were peacefully scattering their bombs in the air, and evil russians put a city under those bombs. What a devilry!
You are saying maidan should have been bombed.
Proves pro-russians are much more humane than the western junta
Those who support the Kiev government, the fascists themselves..
Westerners and their Kiev junta puppets hide themselves behind women and children on maidan. They deserve the same treatment.
even if self-defense use people as sheeld (as you say, but actually the aren't – I got friends and Lughansk and know what i say), govt have to negotiate first, then allow civil people to leave and then only to start shellings.
Now they do real crime
maidan should have been destroyed?
Just like peaceful protesters on maidan.
The difference is that pro-Russians don't burn people alive.
And the only difference with maidan is that they don't burn people alive.
Maybe Solidarnosc was also created by CIA in order to dismantle Communist government beloved by all Polish and spread US supremacy?
Or maybe sillly people in Poland don't know that they are actually Russian?
Do You really think anybody believes in Your propaganda?
