"Allow me to ask, ‘What shall we do? What can we do in Kurdistan? Shall we remain just watching and waiting for an unknown future, unknown destiny? Everyone sees what’s taking place in Iraq."

The Kurds, allegedly descendants of the ancient Aryan Medes, once a brotherhood of linguistically connected tribes from Anatolian Karakush and Nemrut Dagh, with names like Grmandj, Lor, Kelhor, Lurs and Bakhtiars, extending beyond Fars into what is now Iranian and Pakistani Beluchistan, have been reduced to a colourful, courageous, but for all intents and purposes, defenseless remainder of their old, glorious self. Saved by the USA from Saddam Hussein's bullies and torturers, they now enjoy a delusional spate of freedom, for how long? Who's going to drop them, and when?
