I wish more reporters felt like this...there would be nobody left at CNN or Fox.

The difference between Fox and CNN with Russia Today is twofold. First, RussiaToday is owned and directly from the Kremlin and often manufactures fake stories or leaves important news that makes Russia or Putin look bad off the network. They pretend to be a real news channel when in fact they are a direct propaganda outlet for Putin and the Russian government. Both CNN and Fox are not owned by any government. They are privately owned organizations that are very open about their political leanings such as conservative or liberal. Neither CNN or Fox 'manufacture' news. They might put a spin or opinion on news to please their audience but that is different than outright lying or manufacturing 'fake' stories such as Russia Today does. Also, remember the U.S. has the 1st amendment which forbids our government from interfering with the press. Russia has no such separation. All press in Russia is either directly funded and controlled or censured by the Russian government. Putin has shut down all independent news in the country and you won't find any dissenting news outlets left unless they are based offshore. In fact even bloggers have to register with the Russian government and give their name and address...so they can be 'controlled' and intimidated if they step out of line.

Even though I was being sardonic, that's a good answer. What I meant to imply is that there is a dearth of integrity in the industry and so reporters like this woman really leave an impression.

Which makes her in my humble opinion –a propagandist working for a foreign country. She is not a loyal American–it is now very clear why Snowden asked Russia for asylum–He, too, got a "pass"! Wonder, how many years have she known that the truth was being stretched by her team–And, she accepted the part as well to tell the lies!

Privately owned by the same people who own senators and representatives ends up amounting to being owned by the government. We do live in a plutocracy after all; the people controlling money control most politicians and dictate the successful legislation the vast majority of the time. These same people own multiple media outlets in effort to control the public mood and response to their economic machinations. If you are not convinced, check out the study from Martin Gilens of Princeton University in 2014 "Testing Theories of American Politics: Elites, Interest Groups, and Average Citizens"

Unfortunately, many people are afraid of truth and prefer not to see it. That`s why they hate Russia, Putin and, of course, RT.

I find RT far more fair. They are not blaming anyone when the Western media has already blamed Russia and BUK missiles without a shred of evidence (or even worse dubious and laughable evidence such as twitter remarks by unverified users).

BUK missle carrier returning to russia....
      radar reporting...
this is exactly why RT times is so bad... you didn't know any of this.

Brian, I guess that you've missed the part of the article you referring to which reads "the veracity of the phone calls could not be confirmed". So much for your mountain of evidence mate

        thanks Brian

at least there is some hope in society for smart people, i mean do we really need to go back to ABC's and 123's for some people. But to be frank, the same people that believes in RT are the same people that also believes that Jay-Z was the reason MH370 diverted (which is an entirely different discussion – in which I like to call "Idiots looking for a Plane in water, when for over 4 months no wreckage, I REPEAT NOOO WRECKAGE has been spotted yet on any coast in the region the plane supposedly crashed at-> when its on land being fixed to perform 9/11 2")

it just honesyl baffles me how dumb people are getting, like those who think Edward Snowden did the US a favor, when they seem not to observe that why would snowden expose the US, just a week or two before the chinese president came to the US to discuss espionage, and then fled to HK/China and then to Russia, Americas two unfriend countries. Well let’s see, opposed to think he did us justice by exposing the US, IDIOTS think this, HE DID US WORSE, by tell the terrorists how WE protect ourselves, PLUS, the same people he thinks are not spying on their citizens, IF YOU DO YOUR RESEARCH IDIOTS, you will find that china does a worse form of hacking/spying/espionage than the US. (ask yourself, how come we know sooo much about the US intelligence but WE KNOW HARDLY ANYTHING IF NOTHING ABOUT OUR ENEMIES?

Just know I am shaking my head because this goes so deep for your peanut for brains to understand, just being honest.
PS – go ahead a post your uneducated response, because you think America did you wrong, (as for Americans, you should be happy because you could be living like the live in the Middle East if it wasn’t for the US), AHH ignorance ANGERS me beyond levels, also sorry for typos and using the word ignorant so much but for some IT REALLY DOES APPLY

Your desire to ignore the existing evidence doesn't qualify as a lack of such evidence.

First of all, the separatists themselves had claimed that they've shot down the plane (believing that it was a Ukrainian military plane) – here's an example: http://lifenews.ru/news/136801

Secondly, the separatist have a history of shooting down the planes – the previous one was shot down a mere 5 days ago (http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-28299334) which clearly shows that they have capacity, equipment and motivation to do something like this. Note that the plane mentioned in the BBC article was flying at 21,325ft – far ouside of the reach of regular shoulder-mouted launchers.

Lastly, the operational range of Buk is only about 22 km, which significantly limits the territory the plane could've been shot down from – and it's all terrorist-controlled.

And why are you so sure that RT is correct when they say that is a "100% sure the plane was downed by an missile from a ukraine fighter jet and another from a ukraine anti-aircraft weapon"? IF you watch RT you will know they are giving that "evidence" to his viewers on the last hourly reports...
But they are ignoring the pictures and videos of a Russian Buk-m1 been moved from Ukraine territory to Russian territory by a russian military truck... they where with so much worry they even get it into a small village just outside Donestk to get it faster into Russian territory.

And the nearest battery buk from Ukraine that is under ukraine military is more than 300 miles away. So where are you getting the evidences? From the reports of Russia claiming they moved there 70000 military people away from Ukraine border... but they sent 20 new cargo planes full of military equipment to the same region? If they moved the soldiers... why do they need 20 Antonov cargo planes full of equipment? Well... if RT reported that, they would say they where placing robots in the region.

RT is your favourite because they provide platform for those who want to politicise propaganda bashing another country as long as you never speak out against Putin nor condemn Russian government. is that what you called honest journalism?

How much proof do you want RT is lying, I read these blogs ALL the time and I see SOOO many DUMB people MAKE DUMB comments, like RT doesn't lie, well explain why Russia is using RT to cover up KILLING 296 innocent People, NOT SOLDIERS.
I mean honestly, what is happening to society, i think we need to have the movie idocracy, played a precurser in schools to get people to wake up before they get old enough to influence the VERY few intellectuals left on this dying planet.

I don't think it's propaganda. I have RT as one of my favorites, along with CNN. As someone said on RT recently, the difference between lets say CNN and RT is not how they cover things, it's what they cover.
You don't need CNN, Foxnews, Bloombergs, BBC on your favorites since they cover the same stories in pretty much the same way, same stories, it gets repetetive. So if you are interested in what is going on in the world you need RT, at least as a complementary news site.

        RT is LYING.

There first report at 15:45 GMT was that "There was a plane shoot down in Ukraine near the eastern border with Russia. We are getting reports that it was a ukraine military plane full of soldiers. We are waiting for more information from our sources in Donetsk".
At 17:00 GMT RT changed there information... "Ukraine anti-aircraft battery shoot down an Malasian civilian plane".

So, where are your "perfect" sources?
Today there are reporting the plane was hit by 2 missiles: one from a ukraine fighter jet and one from a ukraine anti-aircraft battery.

What is next? The report made by a Spetnaz to a local source that everyone on board was dead 5 days ago and it was the USA that placed the bodies inside the plane just before taking it down with there new railgun?

CNN and FOX are just as bad, if not worse, than Russia Today. Russia Today is open about their backing by the government. CNN and FOX try to mask their political connections by saying that they're "privately owned" which is worse because they're actually censoring under the guise of free speech. No one in Russia takes RT seriously because they know it's propaganda. The same can't be said for the American people.

Where was the American media when hard questions needed to be asked about the Iraq war no the just agreeded with all the crap the government said about Iraq . There were no questions to senators when the were on CNN about what could happen in Iraq .CNN went all with the government spin
The only channel I seen asking hard questions was the BBC and other media outside the United States .

All superior comments here, perhaps due to the belated integrity of
the woman reporter. You may notice ninety nine percent of commenters have
no interest in anybodies opinion but their own, not necessarily bad,
face to face would make better dialogue anyhow. THE only replies
you willl get are some snarky right wing ignoramus , venting his spleen.
On the one hand you cannot belileve a word anybody says, like believing
a tobacco study paid for by tobacco sellers, everyone has their own stake
in the testimony, and different take on it. THere are those tiny few
who know the truth of science and will sort out a consensus
to approximate a relative truth. The rest are blatheriing socially conditioned
self preserving rationallizations, projections, and illusions. A main point
to back these observations up, how many times have you seen self criticism
accompany a criticism, so some kind of dialogue, communication, or human
connection can occur, I have waited over sixty years for one time.
This is of course the negative part of the story, and the positive part is
people work, act, love, and talk daily, the news is sensationalist
commercial hype, not really democratic or enlightening, in fact
may do more harm to your health than good, but you\
can learn to discriminate. I priest causes sin, police cause crime,
health workers cause disease, does new cause trouble?
