When the US moved in 8 years ago. Both groups were VERY poor.
Now they fight each other and the US pays for escort cost to warlords $300 – 600 per truck??
The US also pays for Karzai's soldiers 150$/month and more, so economically both groups are doing much better.
The more troops US and NATO send in at a cost of 500.000 $/year/ soldier? The larger the payments to the warlords i.e. Karzai and Pashtuns.

@amanpourcnn: I have been following you since I learned you were good friend with John Kennedy, Jr. You learn alot about a person when you observe their choice of friends. Anyway I have also been following the crisis between Palestine and Israel.
Their father (Abraham) died before he could have instructed his stubborn sons division of their land (Palestine and Israel). Of course I am being facicious.
It saddens me to realize that I have been watching and praying now from a very young child's prayers to now a 61 year old woman with the same child's prayer on her heart.
Do we need to raid each house in Israel and take all weapons out and do the same in palestine, then build a very high wall and corral them into one state of mind and turn off their phones, tvs, cable and instruct them to WORK IT OUT AND THEN WE WILL LET YOU OUT. TILL THEN, WORK IT, WORK IT TILL YOU ARE SATISFIED AND THEN PRAY TO G-D WE CAN COME TO PEACE AND PEACE OF MIND. THEN WE WILL HAVE SOMETHING TO CELEBRATE. NOCK YOUR WALLS DOWN PHYSICALLY AND SPIRITUALLY.

Please ask the set designer to "turn the lights on" so we can see it better, removing the constantly moving, distracting, bright red, blue and black blobs behind you and your guests, that have nothing to do with content. Helo Amanpour As a journalist you are great as a person you are wonderful to the rest of the women you are a model. I admire you talk shows and the courage and intelligence.
I have always being troubled with some issues concern the idea and reality of colonization and make up of countries in Africa and the effect of slave trade, how it damaged Africa. The boundries or the so called nations in africa which are made up of many nations in one country thereby the reason of wars and live presidency in the continent. I will like more about this continent to be talked about and how to help her move forward.
