Feedback was light and the topic that most viewers discussed was Climate Change.  Alarm over the threat that climate change represents to Alaska was present.  Some felt climate change had a political association and was a “government tactic” to distract people from the “real issues”, while others expressed compassion for those having to bear the harsh weather conditions.

Below, you will see some opinions from viewers like yourself:

Look lake Atitlan in Guatemala , we have a BIG problem too

John Ray Nagas

We really must take action fast!

Julie Raymond

Thank you for covering this.

it is so sad that there are so many people in the mountains and their precious ,rich lives will be affected by the climate change. Here ,in Pakistan also we have mountains and valleys where so many wonderful cultures and peoples survive. We have to record the climate changes and the affects on thier lives in our part of Himalayas too. This is a research in sociology and human anthropology which social scientists ought to encourage.Maybe the UNESCO people will link this debate .

What a lesson in "denial" for personal and political (monetary) gain. With this type of evidence before us from so many quarters, and evidence of past ecological traumas leading to the collapse of other, older civilizations and cultures, (Anasazi, Mayan, Easter Island, etc.) that there should STILL actually be a "debate" about the validity

Sherry Gardner

I couldn't agree with you more Stephen. Thank you Christine for Maya' story. I had tears when it was finished.

Women bear the brunt of all adverse situations across societies in the world. That is the unfortunate history of mankind. We therefore need a new humankind for the future, where all human beings, irrespective of their gender, will share the burden of responsibility equally, even if in ways that each one can contribute more effectively.

Sometimes one feels that the impact of climate change will not be properly appreciated by authorities unless the situation worsens to the point of global catastrophe. Random erratic weather patterns, unanticipated floods/droughts seem to point to an impending disaster of far greater scope and magnitude.

May good sense prevail far prior that point of no return.

I have just watched your interview with Robert Mugabe. As a native zimbabwean I was very disappointed to see such a; weak, superficial and poorly informed and executed interview of a 21st century tyrant. He rang rings around Ms Amanpour and came off far more credibly than she did. A real opportunity missed and a real let down to the zimbabweans still suffering under his rule.

I hated Mugabe before the interview. You never let him speak whenever his answers clearly explained his point of view and christine predjudice as a bitter white resentful of land being taken from fellow white people. I gained respect for Mugabe and still wonder why CNN never mentioned much about Florida election. There will be some adjustment period after any land reform. Lift the sanctions and take a good look at our own backyards.

    Dear Ms. Amanpour,

During your recent interview with Robert Mugabe, who is nothing less than a malevolent despot, it was very apparent that you let him off the 'hook' to easily. Not only has he raped his nation & its people, he's using reverse racism to assault those descendants of former white Rhodesian colonialists. Up until Mugabe initiated his racist policy twds. the white Zimbabwians, they had contributed to the agricultural betterment of Zimbabwe and are 'not guilty by association'.

Its clear to many people that Mugabe is using his policy to expropriate the monies of these people, many whom are of European ancestory.

If he were alive today, I'd suggest speaking with Simon Weisenthal, a survivor of the Holocaust, who taught me about this term, 'the lack of guilt by association'.

    Cordially, Steven L. Hanft, M.A.

    Ms Amanpour,
Honesty would have compelled you to introduice Ms Hass for what she realy is and what she represents. Useless for me to educate you on her e agenda you know it better than anyone else being an investigative reporter and all. At least you should have invited someone to represent the other component of that problem. Up to now I thought you were equitable.... Now you joined the "Hate Israel" propaganda machine.
Maybe you should have asked Ms Hass to explain her response when asked (after she wrote an articel on the hardships of the Gaza population")how come she does not comment on the 7 years of shelling of southern Israel, her response was "it is not my job".

why do you continually call the territories occupied land. The Jews lived there historically with the Arab; there never has been Palestinian land.
Why don't you present the Israeli side of the story for a change?

I'm very disgusted by your biased reporting on the 2-state solution.

    Ms Amanpour
I like your way of journalism. You are a brave lady with the power to speak the truth but sorry to say that you never highlighted the sufferings of Tribals in Federally Administered Tribal Areas, known as FATA in Pakistan. This area and its people, for the last 30 years, are suffering in the wars, imposed by all civilized world nations in their wars for global strategic interests. You cannot immigine the human tragedies, taking place daily at our homes and towns. Non of us, even, understand the meaning of Alqaida or their programme. For us it is just change in the charactors for wars in this region, nothing else. 30 years back this war was started in the name of Jehad against USSR wherein USA, Osama, and rest of the world were main contributers and main partners. After disintegration of USSR, same well trained wariors had free hand in turning Afghanistan into a base camp for international militency. For us, today, Osama and Obama are two faces of same coin as one killing us in the name of Jehad or Shahadat( martyrdom) while the other in the name of war on terror. Only we are the ultimate looser in this war of the big ones.
Amanpour; I am an eyewittness in this front line of war on terror and personally see these human tragedies. You realy have the courage and a heart to speak the truth and can raise your voice, against this human tragedy by visiting this area and interview with locals. I guarantee you that your will get a very differen picture of the tribal in FATA and you will realise that tribal, despite ignorence, understand human values and love to live in peace. Personaly I am ready for answer to any question in your mind before embarking on this fact finding mission on humaniterian grounds.

    Dear Amanpour;

Happy new year 2010 to you and your family.
You are doing an incredible Job.

I just followed the discussion with Mr Luis Moreno Ocampo, the presecutor International Criminal Court and the Documentary of the little 16 year old thief from Cameroon.

I have some questions for Mr Luis:

Should we wait for casualities like in the sudan, the Congo and Kenya before the International criminal Court comes in, in the case of Cameroon? Is it really normal for a president to remain in power for over 29 years in a democratic society?

A question to Amanpour; When shall you cover the atrocities of neo-collonial Africa and post Collonial Africa in terms of meeting todays needs?

Is the little 16 year old a true thief or just an Ignorant little boy?

    My kind regards;

    Tcharbauhbokengo NFINN

What a great program CNN provide, To the Climate Change debate, I have built the first Eco Sustainable Industrial Estate In Australia if not the World. The Estate, even though it is built within the Council water and sewage systems we were allowed to build this 10 acre project without using the councils services. The footprint of the estate is driven by Solar power. The property is just amazing, with wetlands lakes and rain forests, so much so that one could hold a wedding on the Estate. This Estate is a financial success with a total investment of A$20m. Refer to the web page http://www.mitchellbuilders.com.au What the Governments of the World should have agreed to at the Copenhagen Conference was for all countries to plant 3 trees per head of their Countries and report back one year later, success 24 billion trees, whaaa, what that would have done for the green movement and the planet, that's what I have to say, cheers from Bruce Mitchell 21 Waddiwong Road Coomera Shores Australia.

As a father and psychiatrist I was appalled at your report on Human trafficking in India. A campaign to make this horrid practice more widely known is needed by the whole world. I would be eager to lend my signature to a petition to make this need known, even to contribute to the support of such an effort. The petition might be directed to our President or to Secy. Clinton Is there such an effort underway? Those poor children! Thank you deeply for your report. Gregory B. Camp, MD, Wilmington, NC
