I was wondering if Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is working with Dean Kamen. One of the things he was working on was portable water purification. He's invented so many other things to help mankind, he may be a really great source for the answer.

    Kennedy,

There are more reasons for water polution that pharmaceuticals

I hear your message about pharmaceuticals in our water supply – and I know that it is a big problem.

But, have you considered the contamination caused by chemical weapons stored in the U.S. that have only been 50% destroyed. Even after destroyed, a highly toxic residue remains and is stored for" future disposition."

The U.S. and Russia were supposed to have destroyed all of these chemical weapons by 2007, but both nations extended deadlines with the UN. During the Bush administration, the entire 8 years, we remained at 50% disposed.

We have mustard gas, nerve gas, sites that produced agent orange and napalm, both of which have left the ground and groundwater contaminated

In case you are unaware, the U.S. continued to manufacture/WWI and WWII type chemical weapons through the Korean War and then we refined chemicals for use in Vietnam.

We even imported chemical weapons from Germany after the war for safe storage. Operation Chase and sea dumping of these weapons was halted in 1970. A very large quantity remained. They are either buried in amo dumps or stored in military or "safe" sites, with their containers deteriorating.

I have a report from the UW archives from 1969 – that appeared in the Wisconsin Engineer, December 1969, shortly before the last of the Chase dumps were carried out. The report title "Report on the Disposal of Chemical Munitions" will provide you with quantities stored here in the U.S.

Go to a web site "Deadliness Below" and you will even find transportation records and the names of site where these munitions were taken.

Problems occur because there is no absolute sure and complete way to dispose of these and furthermore, some are buried and disturbing their sites may cause more damage. In the meantime, the chemicals are leaking.

Check it out and let me know what you think?

What about desalination plants? Why can't we use them to purify and to increase water supply?

    Thank you

Water will become one of the major issues for disputes in 21 century. This is because about 80 percent of water is used by agriculture in the world, depleting fossil groundwater aquifers that should be kept for drinking in the dry regions. There should be a consensus to preserve such fossil aquifers for drinking by restricting irrigation for crop production. The current inefficient flood irrigation is really wasting non-renewable precious groundwater in many parts of the world. People should recognize this and take an immediate action to save the fossil aquifers.

no need to worry about the pollution we have a machine that can filter out the pollution in the water it's just part of the plan. You have to pay one way or another.

    Dear Sir

How can you blame private companies who bring safe drinking water to others where public utilities are inefficient or even non existent. Why can public utilities not work together with private companies in a ppp – publoic private partnership-and use each other strengths to supply safe water.

The province of British Columbia in Canada has approved the opening of a gold-copper mine in the Chilcotin peoples territory, near Williams Lake, B.C. The First Nations people are horrified and opposed to the TASEKO Mines opening or to the opening of any mine for that matter. The mine will kill all the water in a lake nearby, which is required for the operation of the mine. The TASEKO Mine epitomizes death of the environment and is just another nail in the coffin for First Nations people. The government of B.C. is promoting the mine as prosperity. wealth and a positive step forward vs. what is in reality is – DEATH! Is there anyway that Robert Kennedy can intervene or assist these people?
