Shame on you Mrs. Amanpoor ,you had good opportunity to show what really went on on Ashura and 2 days later and you failed. Fatemeh Haghighatjo is new to this country and speaking english was hard for her.She was not able to defend the cause properly. she shoud have been encouraged to speak farsi with a translator. You put her in front of Mr. Marandi with flawless english. He probably was educated in this country paid by Jamhori Eslami with Oil Money and now he was paying them back with lying. I wonder if you presented him with a copy of circular letter they sent to different offices and threatend people to show up for demonstration or they will be dismissed, what he would have said? . Also there were multiple clips of lebas shakhssi feeding demonstrator they carried with busses from differrent villages. to pay back for them coming to demonstration. They bought these people and you did not show it and you did not show clips from Bassiji's brutal treatment of people. You played right in Mr. Marandi's hand . May be you wanted to make sure they let you in next time you want to do interview with AhmadiNejad.
I would like to say that I am in favor of full body scan machines for security
checks at air ports it is time to get serious about this very serious situation.
i personally do not care about my physical privacy if it will eliminate the danger of bombs. I am a healthcare worker and feel that this is the time to act
My name is Peter Nwokolo and I am a Nigerian living in Lagos. The action of Umar Farouk Abdulmutalab was totally Un-Nigerian, unfortunate and must be condemned and has been, by every Nigerian across all religions. That a Nigerian should even think of committing suicide is something I find so, unbelievable. I am a christian but do know as a Nigerian, that 99.9% of Nigerian moslems are very very peaceful and law-abiding and will never agree to die for the sake of Islam.
It is also imperative to note that a great majority of Nigerians love the American nation for the vibrancy of its democracy and its democratic principles and have always looked up to America and hopes that our political leadership, which has always been the bane of our national development will borrow a leaf from the robust visionary leadership that the American nation have always provided for its citizens.
Sad as the the event of December 25th is, it is very important that the matter be treated with caution and maturity in order not to create an impression that the American Government is at war with Nigerians. There is no doubt that there are a few moslem fundamentalists all over the world and the right thing to do now ,is to begin to try to separate the wheat from the chaff. This is also a clarion call to parents who send their children overseas, to ensure that they continuously monitor their activities and raise a red flag once there is any change in their behavioral patterns. After all, Umar Farouk Abdulmutalab, from all indications, was recruited outside of Nigeria.
The fight against terrorism is a global one and concerted efforts must be made between Governments and good people all over the world to tame these fundamentalists, whose only aim is to create fear and anarchy and cause disunity between peace loving people all over the world. Surely, we will defeat them and peace and prosperity will prevail over evil.
Shame on you Mrs, Amanpoor, you know very well what you are doing, it's pitty you have been born in the same country as us. You are such a big hypocrete..going on reporting in Iran and making some positive image of yourself having sympathy for Iranians, while you only think about your personal benefit. You gave total chance to Mr. Marandi a pro Islamic regime who defend and justify all these killings murders and rape of brave Iranian men and women, while you made fun of Mrs. Haghighatjoo....
The reason our nation is still having major problem getting rid of the horrible regime, are nasty people like you who play this dirty role on key posts like CNN internatinal chief executive..... shame is not enough for you
I'm in Tehran and I really dont know how to express my frustration Mrs Amanpour.people like you instead of revealing the truth , try to justice unjustice!I really dont get, whats the point of bringing liars on international televison to justify their action and mislead the world so they can continue their dirty work.
Why you seek the truth from the mouth of a BIG liar such Marandi?is it anything to do with your assets in Iran?
we people in Iran like to see you in defend of the truth not friend of liars.
i really wish you change this attitude.
about Mrs Haghighat jou i woud like to say what happend to her?why it was okay for her to seat on majlis and chant death to America and blaming USA for everything and Calling USA big satan everyday ? I dont understand how these USA haters cant find any other dreamland to live and enjoy life but the old satan USA ?!
@ Tehran,Sara & Guity, I totally understand you being upset on this program. It was so basic, incomplete, and there was a major language embaressment. The gussts were not the problem, basically the whole program was very poor, I felt like shouting and saying:" stop this now".....
Saying the above, we also should not bring up the Nationality of the program's hostess, her job is only toprovide good journalism and educational debates, which in this case, it did not.
Mrs. Amanpour, please try to bring a translator next time you have some one who can not express her real views on the subject ( because of poor English), as Marandi looked and sounded very good, at least to the none-Iranian viewers and that was just not fair and made the show seem quite un-intelligent
@sara
i don't see mrs. amanpour making fun of mrs haghighatjoo at any point. i think it is very unfair to say that. additionally i think that her english was just fine. maybe it took her a longer time to speak but mrs amanpour gave her all the time she needed and never cut her off. i also think that it was a fair interview and that every person with a brain knows that mrs.haghighatjoo was right and that mr marandi is just an idiot. but it is not mrs. amanpours responsibility to judge him or to confront him.

If God be for us, who can be against us? no one.
Peter Nwokolo wrote in from Lagos.
