Looking back one year after the war in Gaza, do you still have the same opinion you held during the war? Tell us here:

    YES. The same!
A crime against humanity committed by Israel army, using illegal weapons. Victims were civilians, 500 children. The only recent difference that many Israeli soldiers admitted they were orders to kill civilians,

Its tragic. I wish that both sides were shown each time a piece is reported – and not just one – ever – and I believe Israel attacks in retaliation. Its tragic, nobody should suffer like this.

Consider the question. If the situation was reversed and Gaza is Israel what would the reaction in the West be?
I believe that if the West does not force Israel's hand, nothing will change and many more Palestinians will continue to die. And soon Iranians as well!

it is indeed tragic, although the one sided view in this case is present. If New York City or even the US was attacked in the same way Israel was attacked by Hamas, the US would have invaded the land, where the missiles were coming from.
The aftershock of the Gaza war is tragic, for al the one and a half million Palestinians who live in Gaza. And it is sad to see that the reconstruction of Gaza is failing.
But as long as Hamas is ruling in the small territory, there will never be change in Gaza.
It will stop when Gaza stops attacking Israel indefinite.

Yes, it's murder to shoot rockets at Israel, but understandable for an occupied people to fight back, especially an oppressed occupied people. Israel's response was over the top. The cycle of senseless violence continues. I implore Palestinians to forsake Hamas and Hezbollah. I implore Israelis to forsake Netanyahu and their colonialist/apartheid designs on the territory. Israel can be a democracy or a Jewish state, it can't be both. Israel can not survive if it maintains its current stance and behaviour.

All the events in Gaza proves one thing: Israël never really wanted peace. What they want is get rid of all Palestinians and have them out of the region. Phoney peace talks going on for years had one pupose: keep gaining time. Meanwhile, they move on with new settlements, new settlements and new settlements. Hypocritticly, United Nations are closing their eyes on the matter backed by America. So who really in this world wants Peace? We should remember that after World War ll, the main reason for the founding the United Nations was to stop any major arms conflicts in this world.
    Where are we today?

Claude, your statement is so presumptuous. Many many people of different ethnic backgrounds live and have lived peacefully together in Israel, no Israeli is allowed to live peacefully in surrounding areas even if they wanted to. As a South African, even if I want to visit certain countries I am not allowed to if I have Israel stamped in my passport, Israel accept me there no matter what country is stamped.
I don't proclaim to know the answers but I wish a peaceful resolution could be found and I hope will be found. One that is suitable to all and respects all human rights on all levels. Shalom

Many thanks for your response Julia Ribeiro and like you, I pray that I will see the day there will be peace in the Middle East. The day that Israël will truly put an end and stop building new settlements in the region of Palestine, Peace will have a chance to exist. I know that there are quite a few people in Israël itself who think as I do on the matter. God save the Middle East from more deaths.

No My Opinion has not changed Israel did not reoccupy Gaza as Right Wing Extremists wanted. The Long range result would have been much worse. Hamas needs to straiten out differences with Fatah and get Back to 2 State Solution track. Extreme Vioence goes on in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sudan and Saudi Borders and Gaza continues to catch Media Exposure Un-Proportionally and sometimes totally distorted.
