Unprecedented reactions took over social media and email feedback regarding the exclusive interview with Shin Bet, the son of a founder of Hamas who claimed he became a spy for Israel's domestic security service.  Confusion, extreme emotions and strong words best describe the feelings portrayed by the Amanpour viewers about Mr. Bet’s beliefs.  While some highly commended the interview and applauded “the conviction” Mr. Bet had displayed throughout his life, others stated that he was a ‘lost spirit” and was the “manifestation of evil.”  Religion was the main cause of disagreement among most viewers who felt their religion was the “right one” and offered no consideration to those who felt otherwise.

I think Yousef deserves a noble peace prize. Instead of Israel raining bombs of innocent Palestinians, instead of Hamas cadres who use human shields, he decided to work for Israel to save his people from a massacre because of a careless few. In the process, he even saved the life of his father! Islam blinds and we need many sane minds like Yousef in the Middle East.

Dear Amanpour, I want to thank you sincerely for presenting this gem to the world. He exposed himself too much, he should have been tutored and mind the choice of word when talking about gods of the Quran.

To be honest with you, this young man has the solution to the lasting peace in the middle east if we handle him and back him up in his mission.

I was once a Muslim now converted to Christian and doing the work of missions among the poor in the slum as well as a pastor in a local church, its a wonderful experience to librated, and thats what Mosab is expressing.

Mosab Yousef deserve Nobel Peace Prize Award for 2011.

I am 1000% sure that the Son of Hamas is son of Satan.I am not in favour of Hamas at all. They are Terrorists of course. But this man who is abusing the God,same God who has given him life and to whome he must return after death.....I love Allah more than anything, even my life.I love God

Religion misunderstood is poison!

Abid Haleem

i saw the 1st part of this interview nd was deeply offended by hasan's interpretation of MUSLIMS GOD & JEW'S GOD and the way he called muslim's God i.e Allah as nauzubillah a rebel was blasphemous..i think his study about religion is very limited and its his innocense that he is manipulating the image of islam by observing a handful of people and the way they preach islam.

Great interview, I watched the interview and felt inspired by this man's passion. Mosab genuinely cares about both the Palestinian people as well as the Israelis and isn't afraid to step on some toes to get his point across, I'm looking forward to reading his book, God bless him!

Rebone Obakeng Segopolo

I Watched the interview and think wat mosab did was incredible and i admire him.

The world needs peace!

Mohammed Bahari

I watched the interview and I think he is confused! What I can not find answer to is why he chosed Christianity over Judism? despite expressing admiration for Shin Bet. Clearly he hate Islam. I think he is fake, and he lost his people. He is a lost spirit

I believe this young man's testimony. As a matter of fact Joel Rosenberg reported this story on his website a week or so ago. Why do I believe it? Because this son of a Hamas leader has been honest and said that he is now a Christian. Jesus Christ changes our heart, our mind, our attitudes and our allegiances when we give our life to Him. True born- again Christians develop a heart for Israel and the Jewish people because the Lord puts His love for His people into us.I am praying for a hedge of protection from God around this man so that his enemies will not be able to destroy him. Another reason why I believe him: he is obviously not afraid to die for telling the truth about being a spy for Israel because of his relationship with Jesus Christ . He really feels that he has nothing to lose and a lot to gain by being honest and he is correct. Out of this world and he is into the arms of the Lord!

Seems a typo has crept in. The interview was with Mosab , who is the son of a Hamas founder, which I saw and posted a comment already. But , now you are referring to an interview with Shin Bet which I presume, is Israel's security agency for which Mosab worked . Or is there a person by name Shin Bet, whom also you have interviewed?

I was amazed at how angry the hamas official was. He seemed very intolerant. He refuses to look at the facts, no matter how thin. That is why the middle east problem is unresolveable. The world should learn to live with it.

On mosab. I did not see a man that was under any sort of pressure. He seem to have found his God , and he loves Him

What kind of man is Mosab Yousef? I do not believe a person has no loyalty to anyone. Who is he loyal to? Or is one only loyal to themselves after being tortured?
What about Ousama Hamdan ? At the beginning of the interview he said he refuses to be on the same program as a Jew. Yet he continued to sit there. Why didn't he leave? It would have made more sense

Regardless of one's questions about the credibility of Mosab Yousef's claims, he comes across to me as a deranged guy, mentally and emotionally, who lost his bearings and wants to make himself a hero. As a double spy with a split loyalty, it is unlikely that he was of much help to Hamas or Shin Bet. As to his laudble challenge of perverted Islamic ideology, I fail to see how he can promote true Islam by becoming a Christian !
There are more critical aspects of the Palestinan Question that deserve Amanpour's attention and superb journalistic insight than Mosab's story.

He said "I think he is (Mosab) confused ,what I can not find answer to is,"why he chosed christianity over Judaism ?.Despite expressing admiration for Shin Bet".
Mohammed,I think you are absolutely right to ask that question .And this is your answer.
1.Religion is man seeking after God, But in christianity,it is God who is seeking after man to save him. (a)Because we were under the curse of the law. (b).So that Christ came above us,between us and the curse. (c).Christ took us out from under the curse, having become a curse for us ,so He seek for us to save us from all our sins and gave us all of His righteousness and God of the Christianity that Mosab chosed ,was satisfied that man is bieng saved forever through Christ, and any man "may be saved by Christ".Even you.
Because God of the Christianity that Hassan chosed did not designed the law to be the means of Justification, but by faith for that purpose.Because righteousness and faith are inseparable, but Law and righteousness, are total srangers.Thank you.

Regrettably, Ms Amanpour, refuses to acknowledge the bloodthirsty, hate infused nature of Hamas, which is clearly a fundamentalist islamo-facist group dedicated to murdering all the jews, as well as all the christians in the middle east. Israel would be crazy to negotiate any deal with hamas which will most certainly never give up its dream of destroying Israel. Ms Amanpour is as usual, naive.

I was proud of the fact mosab unashamedly declared His faith in Jesus Christ. I however was disappointed with the panel...the gentleman from London seemed to only want to call mosabs credibility into question therefore bringing quesions about his faith. I felt the panal was unbalanced and quite unfair. But I guess I should expect too much.
Mosab is one of many who have found Christ but quite honestly us westerners have no right to judge his actions when was the last time we and our families faced what he did each an every day. We cannot understand middleeastern ways of living with a westerners mindset. I applaud mosab for his determination to put his own life on the line for proclaiming his faith the way he did today and hopefully he continues to do tomorrow. Israel deserves our protection and our support....forever.

There have been many Palestinians who have collaborated with Israel Mossad and Shin Bet since the occupation began. It is a humilating fact that most Palestinians deplore. The reasons for collaboration usually include financial gain, the promise of a passport in order to immigrate or to avoid prison and torture by the Israeli occupiers. It's unusual that a Palestinian would collaborate because he agreed with the Israelis, which makes Mossab Yousef's claims unbelievable. My guess is he is still being financially supported by the Israeli government, was given a passport to travel then settle in the U.S., and still owes them his allegiance for such "favors". In light of the suffering of the people of Gaza - his people - who are bombed daily by IDF planes, denied basic foodstuffs and medical supplies because of the more than 3 year siege of Gaza and who are locked in a ghetto of concrete and barbed wire - his claims of athe moral superiority of the Israelis is laughable.

I am shocked and in complete disbelief at CNN and Amanpour putting this person Mosab Hassan on air. His interview was full of hate, and statements which would be disrespectful to about 1.3 or so billion people in the world. Shame on CNN and Amanpour for stooping to this level !

Chris. Amanpour, Your show had me on pins and needles today, this Mosab Hassan Yousef is a gift to the world and as a Christian, I truthfully admire and respect his goal. He appears to be creatable and God Bless him. I agree with him and his ideas and must say he is very brave. May our God be with him through this struggle and ask his fellow Muslims to please join with him. This is the first step for world peace. May our God also bless all the Muslims.

Cudos to Mr. Yousef for his courageous work for the good of both sides. But segregating the Islamic god and the Christian god as two different entities undermines his good intentions and further separates the two side. It is our ideologies that differ. Our God is one-in-the-same.

The interview was very interesting. This son of Hamas is very believeable. The only criticism I have is that of the choice of the middle East expert. Is he the best you could come up with? He didn't sound like an expert to me.

Throughout history, during wars and during so called peace, there have been people who went to the other side, people who sold their people and often their souls along the way. Why is he flaunting the role he played or still plays? Mosab Yousef was never patriotic and never a real Moslem. To convert to another religion at this particular time when people in Gaza , women and children, are dying by the thousands, just proves what a shallow person Mosab is. A fake.

The interview with Mosab Hassan Yousef was disturbing. This is a man who showed no loyalty either to family or to country. He even went a step further to blaspheme 'the God of Quran'. Anyone who has read the Quran would know that three quarters of the Quran deals with the life of Moses; there are chapters devoted to Jesus , and to the most perfect woman in Islam, Virgin Mary. In my opinion, Yousef wants to feed peoples' misconception of Islam. After all, the conflict the between the Palestinians and the State of Israel has nothing to do with religion and everything to do with land.

He should be coached before he says more, but I think he is wonderfully brave to say what he believes the intentions of Hamas and those of Bet Shin are. The Bet Shin is not out to murder as many Palestinians as the Hamas is. Hamas is out to kill every Jew in Israel they can find and they are happy to say so.

In my view, Christianne, you need to be more neutral when interviewing the people in the show you dont agree with. Trying to catch them in a mistake is not a good approach.

so disappointed I decided to drop cnn out of myc tv channel because of this dirty pblication of a worthless book. propaganda for a spy? is against the art of Literture.actually this is a part of trying in vain to compare occupier with the defender. The phyco man has been cheated in sex and money by Israel as their notorious way. don´t call him converted christian man, unless he was not a spy! in another program christiane, my former ideal pointed honour killing as Islamic tradition. In sweden I know two honour victims one chilean background the other Kord. None was Muslim.
