Israel plans to expand settlements in East Jerusalem and the possible repercussions on the U.S.–Israeli relations and the Middle East peace process was heavily discussed among the Amanpour audience. Some felt that although the U.S – Israeli relations evolved and this indicated a positive pull toward this situation, the settlements “needed to stop.” Additionally, while some suggested a one state solution with two legislative bodies others thought this was a risqué move and it “would not work.” Overall, viewers had a good exchange of ideas that differed in opinion but shared a common goal.

Facebook comments about the Israel plans to expand settlements in East Jerusalem
Peter Houston Make no mistakes. And I do not want anyone to misrepresent my presentation. I am not advocating any attack on Israel. i want peace in Israel. i want peace in Palestine. But if Israel will not negotiate in good faith, Arab Nations must not sit and continue to watch Palestinians suffer the kind of treatment that the world delivered the Israelis from many years ago. Enough is Enough.
Markus Lique Umaguing Jr I believe the Israelis knows what they r doing in East Jerusalem and US won't abandon them, not at this point in time..
Mary Ann Parker I think they need to stop the settlements
Muhiire Nathan Israel has always taken USA for granted. The arrogance on their part puts USA in a complicated situation when it comes to mediation.
Aminullah Alonto Lucman How about a one state solution with two legislative bodies, one for Israel and another for the Palestinians. Regional Senators will be coming from the two legislative entities as a singular entity and then a president to be elected on a one man one vote policy, it can be an Israeli or a Palestinian president. Politicians in this arrangement will certainly abandon violence, or they may be voted out of office, how about it?

Rape is not just an issue in Congo but Its a decrease that is more endemic and apparent in the American, British and other So called Military do-gooders. It is naive to think otherwise as these are thorny issues for the so called civilised and democratic western world. one only needs to look at the abuse by the religious sector. Some times these individuals no matter how good their intentions are often end up making things worse for the very people they think they are so concerned about.
Also It is just that other countries short comings are reported fast and emphatically by the these very countries . Africa is gradually moving forward just the way Europe and America and the world at large did. The sad reality is that these horror is often assisted by nations who have other vested interests and repatriate themselves.
Africa will move forward and respect the human dignity as it progresses and begins to unite. Other countries should land a hand not just condemn.

Mutual respect between Israelis and Palestinians is the key. Then a mutually acceptable coexistence will be possible.
Radical Islam is at war with the world, including mainstream Muslims who do not think like them. Radical Islam will never be satisfied until “God’s Law” their “Sharia Law” has replaced “Man’s Law” everywhere in the world. We call these self righteous killers for their God “terrorists” but they see themselves as heroes and martyrs.
Islamic civilization is at war with itself over the very meaning of Islam. Western civilization has been made the scapegoat. But surely, no one is so stupid to think that flying airplanes into tall buildings and killing 4000 people is going to destroy America. Surely, no one is so stupid to think that sending katyusha rockets into Israel from Palestine is going to destroy Israel. No, the real intent of these actions was and is to inflame the passions of Muslims and force them to choose sides in the RELIGIOUS war radical Islam has declared and waged.
Radical Islam is attempting to force the mainstream Muslims into a fundamentalist "Sharia Law" theocracy. Radical Islam’s objective is to attract the hearts and minds of Muslims worldwide and create a new Islamic future by leading them to war. Muslims are individually and collectively responding and deciding for themselves what their future as a civilization is to be.
Radical Islam formally declared and waged war against the western world ultimately taking down the Trade Towers. Radical Islam had hoped the west would respond by attacking Muslims in general and Saudi Arabia in particular but the west did not do that.
The world and the nature of war changed after 911. We stated that we would attack terrorists anywhere in the world and we would also attack anyone who provided terrorists safe harbour. We do not care whether the terrorists are in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Palestine, Somalia or wherever. We have no desire to take over or occupy those countries BUT we must destroy the terrorists and their evil ideology no matter where they are if western civilization is to survive this assault by radical Islam. If we can help the people in the countries we find ourselves fighting terrorists in then we will do so.
It is important to realize that terrorists hide their true intentions behind other causes.
The West’s permissive culture and the notion of religious freedom and minority rights has become a scapegoat for Muslims and pretext for war. All that the United States stands for is anathema to radical Islam. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard label Israel the ‘Little Satan’ and the United States the ‘Great Satan’.
The Jews have lamented the loss of their home, the loss of Jerusalem for 3000 years. You can not solve a problem until and unless you identify it. Some people are convinced that there would be peace if we gave up Israel and Jerusalem. I do not think so. Extremist Islam was a problem long before Israel even existed. Even were the U.S. to announce a total military and economic boycott of Israel tomorrow, nothing would induce radical Islamists to lay down arms against America.
As a matter of federal law — the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995 — it is US policy that “Jerusalem should remain an undivided city in which the rights of every ethnic and religious group are protected.’’ The western world cares for religious freedom and it hardly matters who provides it if it is not a sham. The Muslims say they believe in religious freedom but it is a sham because many Muslims say they desire a religious state.
Jerusalem requires religious freedom obtained through separation of church and state for a stable peaceful co-existence. Only a western style democracy can do this! An Islamic State could NOT do this.
John F. Kennedy said Israel “carries the shield of democracy and honours the sword of freedom,” and Bill Clinton declared America’s relationship with Israel would “never vary from its allegiance to shared values.” Israel is a democracy supportive of western culture and values. It should be clear to all that Israel is our friend while Arab cultures are not!
Obama originally supported existing US policy and said “Let me be clear. Israel’s security is sacrosanct. It is non-negotiable. The Palestinians need a state that is contiguous and cohesive, and that allows them to prosper — but any agreement with the Palestinian people must preserve Israel’s identity as a Jewish state, with secure, recognized and defensible borders. Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel, and it must remain undivided.”
Obama said "Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel" but it now appears Obama appears has since changed his mind about that. Only time will tell but I suspect this abrupt public change in policy has weakened Obama, Netanyahu, and the prospects for peace.
Bush said "the hatred of a few holds the hopes of many hostage." It seems to me that the PLO and Hamas dance of hatred continues to dash the hopes of the peaceful Palestinians and holds them hostage.

As the crisis between USA and Israel has continued many in our government &media have exggerated the nature of Israel actions &mischaracterized Israels attitude towards the peace process. In this process it is important to remember the facts. The CUFI have written 19,000 e-mails to the whitehouse and President, Obama.
Our friendship with Israel is a one-way street. We give and they take.
european vacations are very exciting sepcially if you got to visit many places at once,
