Our country will be on the wrong side of history if it tries to divide Jerusalem and take the heart of the Holy City from the Jewish state. G-d Forbid! (And I mean that literally)

Dmitry Koublitsky i don't think the conflict will ever be resolved as long as the people in charge on both sides continue to believe that this land has been given to them by god. i just can't imagine how many more lives will be wasted by people who are completely blind in their religious beliefs

Judy Nelson Eldawy Why don't they just make Jerusalem an entity unto itself-like Vatican city? Have a triumvirate of Christian,Jews and Muslim elected by the citizens of Jerusalem run it and make Israel on one side of it and Palestine on the other?

Arrogant Israel has no right, none what so ever to continue to build on stolen Palestinian land. By now it should be clear to most Americans that Israel is not interested in cooperating with the US to forge a long lasting peace in the region.
It is time to stop giving Israel special treatment and 5 BILLION dollars annually.

Whenever musslims are not in controll they claim to be discriminated and to suffer from racism, and believe it justify their terror...
On the other hand, when they are in controll, who dares to say what really happens to those of other faith under their flag?
And here we are, bombs in Moscow again... and in Israel... and in India... the same old story that foolishly we pretend are not related. (must be a coincidence they are all musslims, I guess).
I wonder if they really want peace at all. Maybe if they are the rullers... than they will have the peace they aime.

    Dear Christaine,
I have watched your programme on Tuesday 30 March 2010. I wonder if you are a muslim. You have been overtly sympathetic to Islam. Why don't you ask why islamic countries have refused to allow Christianity flourish unlike the case in Europe and America who are open to Islam. CNN should give a christianity a fair chance.
    Regards

The war between Israel and Palestine is mentioned in the Quran. And if anyone has read it , than at least one of them could let the whole world know what is written. Everyone should know there will never be peace there untill the end of the world. It has been ordained by god so what can anyone do about it.

I DON'T KNOW HOW PEOPLE CAN ATTACK RELIGIONS BEING THE MAIN REASON FOR DISCRIMINATION, WARS, FIGHTS AND ALL OTHER NEGATIVE THINGS IN THE WORLD.. IT HAS BEEN PROVEN THROUGH THOUSANDS OF YEARS AND DIFFERENT RELIGIONS, THAT IT'S THE HUMAN NATURE FOR POWER AND CONTROLE PLUS CAUSED BY SELFISHNESS, THAT DISTRUCTS PEACE AND ALL SUROUNDING GOOD AND POSITIVE THINGS. CAN ONE IMAGINE IF THERE WAS NO RELIGION AND EVERYONE BELIEVED IN DIFFERENT THINGS INSTEAD OF ONE GOD......WHO ALL RELIGIONS REFER TO ANYWAYS AS THE ABSOLUTE AND ALMIGHTY CREATOR OF EVERYTHING WE KNOW ABOUT INCLUDING OURSELVES...???? SCIENTOLOGY HAS MADE MANY PEOPLE HAVE A GREAT LIFE? REALLY??? THOUGH IT'S NOT A RELIGION?? PEOPLE WORSHIPPING NOTHING, DON'T FEEL PAIN OR REMORSE WHEN THEY KILL OTHER PEOPLE??? SO DO RELIGIOUS PEOPLE, WETHER CHRISTIANS, MUSLIMS, JEWISH, BUDDISTS..SO IF THERE IS NO RELIGION HOW CAN WE BE THAUGHT MORALS AND ETHICS???? DOES ONE THINK, NO WAR, OR DISCRIMINATION, FIGHTS, PREJUDISME, HATE WILL EXIST IF THERE WAS NO RELIGION...... AND IF ONE THINKS IT'S THE DIFFERENT KIND OF RELIGIONS THAT CREATES PROBLEMS IN THE WORLD, THAN WHY ARE SAME RELIGION PEOPLE FIGHTING WITH EACH OTHER IN SAME COUNTRY, WITH SAME CULTURE, BELIEVES, FAMILY BLOOD ETC.......
IT ENDS WITH WERE IT STARTED ADAM AND EVE AND THEIR SONS FIGHTING FOR POWER UNTILL ONE BROTHER KILLS THE OTHER...THE FIRST KILLING IN THE WORLD WAS BY ONE BROTHER A CHILD OF THE FIRST HUMAN BEING CREATED BY GOD HIMSELF TO PERFECTION......SO WHAS THAT AN ACT OF RELIGION???????
OR SELFISHNESS, JEAOULOUSY THAT LEAD TO HUNGER FOR POWER..

This world could be much more peaceful without religion.

The best solution is, Palestinians given up their right on Jerusalem and also drop their demand of refugees returning to where would be future Israel territory. I am sure with these steps, Isreal would make a very big surprise jesture of trading land for peace.

Israel would never trade nothing on Jerusalem because of their great historical connection come whatever may be.

As a Zionist with Palestinian friends (and I mean close friends) I have found myself moving past a debate on the subject of Jerusalem to a shared effort to come to a mutually acceptable solution. You may be surprised, but we agree a starting point should be that the city should not be divided in any obstructive sense. There should be complete ease of walking in all its neighborhoods without anybody imposing a checkpoint or indication of national identity. To date, here is what someof us (not all) have concluded. Jerusalem should have a government modeled on the UN Security Council. It would have alternating mayors of Palestinian and Israeli citizenship.
Both Palestinian and Israeli flags would be raised together and always be displayed together in aall areas where either was displayed. Arabs could vote in Palestinian elections and Israelis in Israeli elections. Sovereignty would be shared, but the city would not be divided.
