The Amanpour audience candidly exchanged points of view regarding Russia’s effort to crush the roots of separatism. Reform was thought to be needed by most, while the minority felt this was not an “issue of reform” but “political propaganda.” Overall, people debated about individual ideologies, human rights and law enforcement and pointed that Russia’s rejection of democracy and capitalism after a decade, “drove” the country to its actual condition.

I'm afraid there's way too many people on both sides who're interested in keeping the conflict on.

Reform is highly needed to manage to combat insurgency. Russians must do more in this regard.

this is not an issue of reform(s) anymore be they political or economic. what exactly you will be reforming? plus, people in russia's caucasian republics won't support political reforms – different mentality, customs and culture

A crush or crack down to insurgency may not be the solution for Russia ... the past and present history clearly shows the fight on terrorism is far beyond power and sovereignty. Reforms and inclusiveness of its citizens may bring healing..

To crush the roots of separatism?
The Russians first and foremost need to apologize for their ruthless rules of Non-Russians and to pay for their pain and suffering.
In the case of the so-labeled : Insurgents/Rebels/etc....the Russians must pay "Blood Money" for their atrocities and to re-build what they destroyed.
Otherwise: Live FREE or DIE (Courtesy of every NH License Plate).
By the way; do the Texans still want to secede?
if yes; I wish they've done it 10 years ago!
Oh yes "Long Live The Good Old Republic Texas"! by the way, were the Alaskans consulted by the czar when he sold them to the US of A for mere $7,200,000 in 1867? Will they too soon want to secede?
Why cant the Russians do the same for the caucases
To Barone:
and now Virginia wants to secede...LOL.... there you go.... a Tri-state union of Alaska, Texas and Virginia....LOL...
No the Czar did not consult the Alaskans; but neither did the British consult the Palestinians when they gave Palestine to the European Zionist Jews for a song!
The reality is: they believe that they have a HISTORICAL RIGHT to their ancestral homeland; namely Jerusalem was once occupied by the Children of Abraham and Moses who were Shepherds after their sheeps. Therefore they have a right to GRAB Jerusalem and the surroundings hills.
I really worry about Texas specially when the Mexicans imitate the Zionist Jews by claiming they too have a HISTORICAL RIGHT to Texas and Arizona and etc.....
well, skin cancer incidence would be increasing because of the hole on the ozone layer~
