History will smile on Sister Joan in spite of the Vatican's efforts to silence her.

We need to hear from more people (not just women) like Sr. Joan. The patriarchal Church in Rome & the US fail to preach Christ's message rooted in His modern era, not the message rooted in Midieval Rome & England. God bless women religious, who serve us people of faith, not just themselves. Can we say as much for our priestly brethern?

Thanks, Christiane – Yes, all faithful share responsibility for the church and need to be heard – we can learn from the women religious – Yes, we all want to think for ourselves. there are many answers, we try to find the best – Yes, we are lead into the fullness of women and CNN and many others are championing it, but the church is silent. None of us received instructions from Jesus personally. Nobody can claim an exclusive mandate. The hierarchical and patriarchal clergy shames us all. If we do not democratize the church, the church will become irrelevant to all of us.
