(CNN) - The execution of Najiba, an Afghan woman in her 20's, shot 13 times in front of a cheering crowed in Parwan province - and seen widely online in a grainy cell phone video - is a show of confidence by the Taliban.

It's unclear why she was shot, but local officials offer various reasons for her execution.

She was reportedly executed last month for adultery, a crime that is indeed punishable in Islam. But for an adultery charge to be proved, Islam requires four eyewitness accounts that match precisely.  << FULL ARTICLE >>

    There is no concept of such brutality in Islam and it is totally against teachings of Islam. In cases of adultery allegations, Islam gives great respect to women and a woman can’t be charged for such allegations unless four eye witnesses for her adultery present to an authorized court willingly for witness statement. Moreover, Islam doesn’t teach to act people by themselves to punish an accused. In all cases it should be decided by authorized courts and implemented through law enforcement agencies. Protecting an accused until a fair trial is done is responsibility of the law enforcement agencies and the state.
