Angelina Jolie giving a voice to the voiceless refugees in Syria

June 21st, 2013
09:55 AM ET

More than one million Syrian refugees have already spilled into Lebanon, which is bracing for a million more.

The human tide is also overflowing into all of Syria's neighbors, including Turkey and Jordan.

Oscar-winning actress Angelina Jolie is in Jordan as the U.N.'s special envoy, giving voice to the tens of thousands of women and children who've been left homeless by the Syrian War.

In the video above you can see the moving report for she filed on World Refugee Day for Christiane Amanpour's program – giving a voice to the voiceless refugees in Syria.

She should be pleading with her own government not to send arms to the rebels, so the Western Hypocrisy continues....

The problem is not with her country, the real problem is with their allies and the political corruption, privilege and political slavery, for years countries like Turkey, Iraq, Syria, Egypt and Israel were working very hard to deport people simply because they don't share the same religion, the first wave of refugees into Lebanon was the half million Armenian, followed by Kurdish kicked out of Turkey simply because they are not Sunnis, The second wave the half million Palestinian kicked out of Israel simply because the are not Jews, later more refugees from Iraq, Egypt and Lybia, the largest third wave from Syria over 1.2 million simply because they are not Alawite as the same religion of the ruling regime. Again this a complete disaster waiting to explode sending waves of lava from poverty terrorism, crimes , diseases and sanitation problems by creating a state of refugees within the smallest stateand the world over populated refugees per square meter. Who to blame, number one the Gulf staes who think that their oil money will protect them from long historical dispute, hate and wars over the power and control of the region. Number two the world oil adiction and the media one sided.

She should be pleading with her own government not to send arms to the rebels/terrorists/Al Qaeda, so many more people are going to die as the Western hypocrisy continues....

Always to blame the wrong side and misleading every one away from the core of the problem, this war is no western man business as it is an ancient dispute between religions in the region between Sunnis and Shia, between Alwite and Sunnis, between Duruz and Shia between Zionist and the rest of the world, and who is in charge of the region. The only problem here always been the oil money in the wrong hands supporting terrorist groups to flame and gain political victories. The real blame should fall on Iran and the Gulf states.

It would be nice to know if she ever gives any money to any relief organizations. Her lifestyle (and Brad's) is a sad contrast to the lives the VAST MAJORITY of the people in this world. I'm not saying she and Brad should be poor. I'm just saying that the way their flaunt their money is unconscionable.

This article about the people who are suffering the most, who became refugees in millions against their wish. Any voice out there is a great help and will work more positive to help, mind your own business or give a piece of bread to help.

Then Brad and Angelina can donate their earnings and all the funds they have in their savings to this country because cannot afford to help send kids to college, or pay for minimal healthcare, or help our elderly!

People who do not appreciate the sacrifice of love others make have no love in them. Here in Nigeria, there are thousands of people richer than the state who are not concerned about relieving even those suffering in their immediate environment. My thumbs up! for Brad and Angelina Julie, God bless them.

I think people should learn to appreciate what Angelina is doing(risking her life)for the poor and helpless in Syria rather than criticizing her. Poverty stems from the mind so no matter how much money you give to the poor,if the mindset does not change,it'll be a waste of resources.Thumbs up Miss Jolie. At least i appreciate you plus i'm praying for you. God richly bless you.

How many people can Angelina and Brad support with all their money pooled together?come on guys, give them a break. They should be cheered on rather than being blamed and caterwauled against.People like to speak against you when you step in the light to help,as if it was all your fault.Keep moving and don't stop,Miss Jolie.

How many people were helped by the Zionist regime so far, according to CNN refugee map zero were helped, how many millions were deported from Israel simply because they are not Jews? just like their allies the Turks and Syrian regime.

May I ask how moral, ethical and justified it is to parachute a white woman (as is the norm) into a horrible human situation, a terrifying sorrow, and then cause her to speak FOR people who are deep in the experience of this horror? How is it right to deliberately erase the voices of those who are best able to speak for themselves in order to acquire photo ops? Why is it OK that a person completely outside of the experience is expected to be the voice for an entire people, because-dare I suggest it–she is white and they are not? Isn;t it time that white messiahship complexes got dismantled, surely? Isn't it time?

As someone said, she should be asking her own government to stop sending weapons and so called aid to the rebels. The world is not so stupid to think that they were going to receive band aids and gaze, in reality, it is called weapons and ammunition, and more. The Syrians who are being referred to as the refugees are the ones who have been displaced by the very terrorists/rebels the US and the rest are supporting. How about reporting on the gas that was transferred by Qatar to the rebels. Let the world know the truth.

Like you know, that they have to please the oil masters of the Gulf states, by applying their policy of privilege and slavery in politics enable for them to please their adiction to oil.

My husband and i have been very joyous when John managed to conclude his preliminary research out of the precious recommendations he gained out of your weblog. It's not at all simplistic to just happen to be giving out instructions which people may have been making money from. And now we already know we need the blog owner to give thanks to for this. The specific explanations you've made, the easy website menu, the friendships you can give support to create – it's got mostly spectacular, and it's leading our son in addition to our family consider that this concept is awesome, and that is especially vital. Thank you for the whole lot!
