In Syria, the death toll from chemical weapons pales in comparison to that from conventional warfare.
Britain’s Channel 4 has the chilling story of a massacre in Al-Bayda.
Christiane Amanpour is one of the most trusted journalists in my mind today. She does fantastic interviews and asks the right questions, doesn't get upset or start getting flustered but pushes to get answers.
Syria has turned a pink-pong game, each is pushing the responsibility to the others, and none is certain who has done this brutal attack on innocent and unarmed civilian population. This is clearly a non-sense act, and anti-humanitarian act. The world needs to help the Syria to come out of this deadly friendly fighting between brothers, all parties have to sit together to discuss a possible acceptable solutions. I am worried about the direction middle-east is moving, the naughty factions will try to get benefit out of this instability, and that would be dangerous for the peace loving people in the world.
Allah helps the world and it’s human!!!
The tough question on Syria is what evidence the world has to blame a group or the other about brutal chemical attach on innocent children and Syrian people? The world has to give attention here, I am sure there is clue that will lead us to the perpetrator.
War crime? Why doesn't Amanpour describe 9/11 then? THAT was a (terror) war crime done by the very Al Qaeda that she and others support in Syria.
But hey, those were murdered Americans so lets forget them, right?
In my mind, in any war, there are a lot of innocent people who got killed including children, women, monks, priests, moderate religious etc.... Therefore, any war is a crime. Chemical weapons should be banned, i agree, but before that inhuman attack with chemical weapons, there are more than 100,000 persons who got killed and more than a half are innocent people. There were people blown up in pieces by rockets, mortars, grenades, barnarous acts...such as horrible as being killed by chemical weapons. In this war in Syria, both sides commit crime. The world in general, and the US particularly, should not take part in any form in this dirty war but calling for the war to stop. The UN resolution should be a resolution to call for this war to stop but not to condemn the actual Syrian government and force their president to resign. Personnally, i think that, considering the going on chaos for the time being, it's better to leave him in place than to let these devided groups of rebels taking over the government. Because if they did, the war in this country, hence war crimes will go on with more and more barbarous acts. The US has nothing to win in this war by supporting the opposition, providing arms for this war, but only losses to its own country and its own people.
Any country who has ben in a war has committed war crimes. US, UK, Russia and Israel has also done that. But as a rule, we can only punish who are weak.
War is bad and the 2 US Senators who are pushing war should be voted out. (Yes I mean Graham and McCain.)
War is never the answer and we have gone through enough wars. Enough is enough. LEts talk.
I hope they list the long list of war crimes the USA has committed in the past 12+ years. The USA we once knew is gone... hail the new USSR and DDR. You will see an enormous growth of anti-what ever the new USA is today from nations they wished never had. It will become the world 3B+ against the USA oligarchy... even from within.
A "war crime" should be any illegal killing, destruction, rape or maltreatment during armed conflict. The Geneva Convention which Donal Rumsfeld so downplayed, clearly describes these activities. U.S. Army Field Manual 27-10, the Law of Land Warfare, also describes what can and cannot be done during a war. It's good that the world is taking notice of Syria's activities but the United States has committed atrocities of their own in the past which should be addressed.
There should be more than nine comments here by now. Hellloooo?
okay... please review and publish one version of the long comment I've submitted repeatedly. Thank you.
Most on-and-all-over-the-topic comment yet! Please pay attention!
No one can explain why a government loyalist imam was targeted. A month before he died, Sheikh Omar Biassi, a staunch loyalist who'd been attacked before, called for all "traitors" to be killed. Maybe it happened the other way around. Plus, a reported 35 direct relations, dozens of other from intermarried families, were targeted, including most of the children and perhaps most of the real victims toll (seems to be around 100, but could be higher). Please see the surprisingly detailed rebuttal of this unverified activists-say propaganda piece, which I of course wrote.
Search "Sheikh Omar Biassi." The Channel 4 debunk is the result at Global Research currently listed "news."
Thanks for allowing this comment from a viewer and global citizen to remain here. Refutations here or wherever are welcome, for my part.
Assad should be tried and so should Netanyahou. The world without these two men will be a much safer place.
Assad isn't the problem its everyone not just him.
