The grim reality in Gaza

July 10th, 2014
06:25 AM ET

As the shooting war between Israel and Hamas intensifies, what of the Gaza residents who aren't firing rockets, those who don't command or control Hamas fighters and aren't interested in the politics?

Adnan Abu Hasna, a spokesperson for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, spoke with CNN’s Michael Holmes about the reality for the people on the ground.

The gaza people voted fir a terrorist organization . So they are to blame. Hamas shoot rockets on civilians as targets . How can you compare it to a state trying to defend itself. CNN should be ashamed for this report.

Aviv… are right to a point, although there is, and always will be, a catalyst, in which Israel is responsible for not keeping the green line for the west bank a line as stated in 67'. Once the Israeli government and the Zionist regime stated openly that they will build wherever they want, its obvious there was never going to be a Palestinian state. Look outside the box, there is a whole new world!…….

CNN is a disgrace. Their biased pro Hamas terrorist position is obvious in their coverage of the Middle East Crisis and an insult to the intelligence of democratic freedom loving peoples. Their pro terrorist propaganda does a great disservice. I have decided to stop watching CNN from today. I hope others do the same.

Difficult to recall the last time the UN – it may well be doing some useful humanitarian work – made any effective intervention in a zone of war to forestall or stop conflict and the loss of lives, especially of innocent civilians.

First: Check Hamas charter about Israel. If you want peace start with changing the charter. Otherwise don't complain when you start wars and always lose. I guess, stupidity has no limits. Second: Your god doesn't like Muslims because the great majority of Muslim victims are killed daily by other Muslims – check worldwide news daily. Third: hatred makes you blind to facts and reality, irrational and delusional. Fourth: keep praying for the help of your god. However, statistically speaking, the success rate of prayers, regardless of religion, is no good, so change Hamas charter to start.

What about the Israeli right wing charters, they not believe in the Palestinian existence and they are member of the Israeli government. No one ask them before they join the Israeli government to recognize Palestine right to exist.

Islam's prime directive is to conquer the entire world, and by using ANY means at all, including nukes and gen o cide, right?

Of course, you can't admit that, because people of the world are supposed to believe your sadistic predatory "faith" is one of peace and tolerance. If we wise up to Islam too soon, we won't be vulnerable any more when you Muslims try to conquer our own countries. I think you are failing now. Many of us already HAVE wised up. We're studying your OWN holy books, which let us call out your lies with your OWN scriptures.

You turn the facts inside out. To you it is Israel which can't resist sending rockets. Gaza sends dozens to Israel every day, and has done it for years. To you, though, that's righteous. So it's okay to kill Jews with your own rockets. You don't mention that Muslims consider themselves to be the only REAL human beings. All the "kaffir" are subhuman, and killing them is righteous.

Israel doesn't want to kill ALL Palestinian people. It's the Palestinian people who WANT to kill ALL Israelis. Hamas has specifically said it doesn't recognize Israel's right to exist at all. Israel, however, GAVE the land of Gaza to your "Palestinian" friends, who immediately began using it to make war on Israel.

To you, it's terrible to see people die, but it's a reason to rejoice when Jews die. You didn't mention that.

You also neglect to mention that Israel has dropped fliers all over Gaza to warn women and children what areas to stay away from, before they begin shelling. Does GAZA do that? Does Gaza return the favor and give Israelis living in areas they plan to attack a warning to go elsewhere before you launch your rockets at them?

Israel condemned the slaughter of that Palestinian boy. And they mean it, because they know how it will inflame the fanatics in Gaza. They caught the perpetrators, and WILL try them. On the other hand, Hamas has praised the men who slaughtered those three Israeli teens.

Those two contrasts, alone, is all anyone needs to know the true nature of the Palestinians' characters. Nor have most of us forgotten how they cheered and celebrated about the 9/11 attacks. Muslims delight in the slaughter of non-Muslims. We've seen it time and again.

And, of course, as usual for any Muslim, you LIE.

What we have here is the Modern Ages clashing with the Middle Ages...irreconcilable. Isil, we can try drawing you in to enlightenment but only you can make it happen. Fyi, there are other books out there beside the koran. Educate yourselves! Love yourselves! Your will to better yourselves must outweigh your will to destroy others. There are so many routes to happiness; you and your ilk have chosen none of them. What a waste!

Israel uses rockets to protect its people.
Palestinians use their people to protect their rockets.

That more or less sums everything up and defines very clearly the priorities of both sides. With those sort of priorities, it is no wonder Palestinians are getting killed and Israelis are getting on with their lives.

Some will say this. Israeli young men in the army are defending the Israeli occupation and Palestinian fighters are fighting to end the occupation and free their people.

Israel has a right to self exsistence. The palestinians have a right to live. Innocent Children are suffering on both divide. Children are getting scared and wondering what kind of life is this. Is there really nobody who can rein in Hamas to stop this callous act? This is a War they can't win. For as long as they continue in this shameful stupidity, Israel will continue to use excessive force to defend their right to peace. exsistence. Hamas stop. These Children want to live a normal life common to their peers all over the world. Life is sacred.

They say Israel does not allow Gazans to import many goods but Hamas managed to import thousands of rockets.

Why didn't Hamas use the same means and ways to import those goods they say the Israelis forbade them to as they successfully did to bring the rockets in?

Are we supposed to be that foolish to believe Hamas and the Gazans are so infantile?
